I am getting warrior shackles and a 1.5" TT on my 2001 Sport. Without trimming my fenders will i be able to clear 31" Pro comp mud terrains?

yes, those should fit without the lift. The only problem most people have with larger tires is them rubbing in the front while turning. The '01 sports have more room around the tires than all the other explorers. How wide are the tires?

I fit BFG 265/75-16 AT (31.8) with no lift. Rubbing was only in front when doing u-turns. just trim the plastic in the front fender well and its rub free. But you should have no problem with s 01. Oh and whats wrong with the Procomps Splashman? I was considering their new Xterrains in the future maybe.

The new Xterrain's look good and so far the reports on them have been great.
I was just refering to the Pro-Comp M/Ts. I know two guys running them (both size 33x12.5R15), one on an Explorer Sport and another on a Ranger STX. I have seen the Explorer while offroading and at a mudbog and the Pro-Comps just didn't perform well. They didn't clean out with out alot of spinning and the grip just seemed very poor which surprised me because there tread pattern is much like the BFG and they have sipping. They did do good on hard packet mud and sand tho. The owner of the Ranger was very disappointed too and is looking at getting rid of them as soon as he gets the money for a set of the new BFG M/T. I am pretty sure both of these guys got them because of the "buy three get one free" sale at 4wheelparts.com.
I have never seen the Pro-Comp A/Ts in action so I don't know about them.

This is all IMO... I don't want to step on anyones toes or make anyone mad...

i have 31X10.5 bfg mt km on my 98sport the only thing i had to trim was the plastic on the front air dam and the inside of the front fenders plastic flairs. like every one else i think you should have no prob running 31. also my offset is less than the stock wheels which helps.

tire size

I have bfg a/t's on my 2001 explorer sport, they are 265/75/16 and if i make a hard right turn they scrub just a hair in the front, and at full flex the rear tire rubs the very top of the rear fenderwell, either one is noticeable enough to worry about, i would like to one day try a 2" tt and shackes and 285/75/16, good luck,

u should not have any probs clearing those tires. i ran 31x11.50 tires without any lift whatsover on my 95 Sport with the stock wheels.
