found my oil dipstick handle broken. removed the rest of the stick and now my engine will not stay running. anyone know if engine will not run without an oil dipstick?

try putting something over the opening of the pipe and trying it again.. if it still doesn't run... see if you can't get it towed to a shop I guess.. unless someone on here is really knowledgable about this sorta thing. I would say its yer PCM, but becasue of the oil thing, I cant say for sure

check wires

Are you sure you didn't disconnect a wire? What happens I believe is when you are cranking your engine, your have an oil pressure bypass. After it starts, and you release the key it reverts back to a pressure system. If its getting a wrong or no signal it will shut off after you release the key. Also check your coldstart valve. It could be firing to cold start it but not after it gets running. Like no injection pulse, no fuel pressure at the regulater. Something like that. It does sound like your ignition system is working fine.
