Will these rims fit ok?

I noticed in Explorer Express they have 17 inch rims put on their X's. They never say anything about making modifications to make them fit, and they even have them lowered. Will 17 inch rims and tires fit on a Limited without rubbing or the tires looking really goofy poked up inside the wheel wells? I dont know if they will or not, as much as they raise up and down.

No difference

Just when you think about putting new rims you come up with a problem. Solution is not that distant. When you go up in size of the tire you have to remember that you have to make up for the difference in tire size. Combination therefor should be the same size. Should be. Just look in their chart. Quote:
15" rims - 255/65-15,
16" rims - 275/60-16,
17" rims - 275/55/17.
See? bigger rim, smaller tire - height wise.

There is also difference in rims offset so these will fit inside your wheel well without rubbing. They even warn you in their catalog that for 17" rims in the V8 models you have to tiewrap the emergency brake cable to the suspension link to avoid tire rub.
