My 03 Sport Trac driver's window wouldn't go down. It then started going down and I stopped it half way. It then wouldn't go up. While pushing the button for it to go up, it went the rest of the way down. Now when I try to put it up, I just hear clicking under the dash.

Based on all of the posts I read, I'm thinking it's the toggle switch or maybe a relay. Is there a relay under the dash that could be making the clicking and be the problem?

To make matters more severe, it's calling for rain and snow tonight and tomorrow and I have to drive it 350 miles Saturday. I hate to take it to the stealership but may have to tomorrow.

Any (and all) help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Get a trash bag and duct tape. Clear plastic home window film if you have to drive it.
Same thing happened to my '08 about a month ago. It was the switch.

If the clicking under the dash is indeed the window relay, swap it with another one. Otherwise, have a buddy lift on the glass while you push the button. That should get it up for you.
Good luck Ed

Since I'm in the middle of moving, my options were limited. I was fortunate enough that the dealership could take it first thing this morning. It was a broken wire in the door and it cost me $225.

I usually fix things like this myself but I had to pack the truck today so we can move tomorrow. The wife would have hated driving 350 miles with plastic rattling in her ear <grin>.

Thanks for the suggestions.
