The only way to get rid of the factory tint is to replace the glass with non tinted glass. If you put tint on the factory tinted glass (like I did) you will see see the factory bronze look but it will just be darker

my tint looks fine - I have it on the rear as well

do you have any pics...Can someone tell me how to view albums..I seen a post where a guy tinted over his and says it looks good and too see pics in his album..Thanks for all the help..Rodney

What year is your X? Only certain years have the factory bronze tint. Can't remember what years specifically though...

Yah, so you have the factory bronze tint and the people who say theirs looks fine I'm assuming have a 2000+...(maybe 98 or 99, I'm not too sure)

I dont have the bronz but I have 5% over factory on all the rears and 35% on the two fronts.

To see it click on " My Explorer " below in my signature.

nice ride...I guess im just sol on my other windows...

I had my front windows done, to match the rear and it looks great.

I know what you mean, but i havent figured out how to add pics yet..

Some people have stated that some tint they bought at Autozone or Walmart matched perfectly.

I local tint place near me said they could get close by using a later of Llumar tint, with another layer of different Llumar tint. I had my usual tinter use his Johnson or Sun-Gard brand tint, so my tint job looks similar to yours. I may get the tint redone in the future to match more closely though.

I have 30% on the rear & sides & 15% on the front 2 windows & that matches pretty well. You can still see there's a difference, but only in some light conditions. Pics in sig..

Here is an example of a tint called Gila Xtreme Gunmetal Mirror Tint. It is 35%light permitting and 20% light reflective...

I think it matches really well...

well i put 20% on my front windows,so what % do you think i should put on my others to make it look better..Any ideas?..Thanks..Rodney

I see what you are talking about

That bronz is killing you :(

Throw a layer of that gunmetal reflective tint on there too maybe...

I found to get 15% all around you need 30% on the rest of the windows. So if you have 20% on the front now you would do 35% on the rest to match it. I researched this extensively across 3 different X's with the bronse factory tint.
