Bosch Icon

Love em, great for ice, snow, and heavy downpours

Silblades came recommended to me. I use them and love em. 2+ years now and they work as good as the day I got them.

I gotta say the motorcraft blates are #1 in my book. I have the original set on my 05 Ex and they work as good as new. The wife liked them so much she made me get a set for her Excape. ;)

Just put the Bosch Icon's on my X about 2 months ago. Love them. They do shimmy a little on semi-wet windshields, but have never chattered or skipped. They do a FANTASTIC job in heavy downpours. I live in South Florida and have already experienced my fair share of torrential rain with these wipers. They are worth the money if you live in an area like i do!

Celly. what model of the Silblades do you have? :salute:

Using RainX blades. So far huge improvement over originals.

I ditched them last year after they started to streak (after 3 years). Just the basic black model. Look like any other wiper for the most part. If they were more readily available in Canada, I'd go with another set. So far my new Bosch Icons have fit the bill in a wet spring.

Have Valeo "Ultimates" from Tire Rack on my other SUV. They are decent as well but I prefer the Rain X blades-decent price, and usually on sale at Menards.

I had the top end Rain-X (latitude?) last year and they lasted 6 months. I was pretty disappointed especially after all the good things I read on EF.

celly, those are the name of the Rain X blades. I put them on last year but didnt drive my Ex at all during the winter. I sure hope they last longer than 6 months of use. They arent that "cheap" to last only half a year. Valeo's have been on other SUV for well over a year, they seem to work as good as when new.

I have had the Rain-X Latitudes on the front of my Ex for almost 3 months now and they are as good as the day I installed them. So far I'm impressed. We'll see how they are holding up by the end of the summer and how they handle the winter. They were about $18 a piece at Wally World and are by far the best wipers I have ever had. Time will tell........................

Rain-X Latitudes have been on for a year and are holding up very well. Impressive!

Motorcraft wiper blades. I get them through Rock Auto and buy the bulk pack (10?).

Less than 2 years and Valeo wipers are toast, rips in both. They have been streaking for many months... Wont buy them again.

Well my Rain-X Latitudes have crapped out. Was hoping to get 2 years out of them. They went belly up long before that. I won't be buying them again. Back to the drawing board!

my rain x has lasted me for about 4-5 years now...monthly cleaning and theyre good...im very suprised...

Back to the task at hand. I scored some Bosch Icons about a year ago after all the good press here. I was a tad disappointed, because they started getting streaky faster than I would have liked. Rather than replace them yet again, I cleaned both blades with some Simple Green and that seems to have brought them back to life.

Something to consider down the road for those of you who aren't getting good life out of your blades.
