Always have high speed wipers, low speed and delay speeds work sometimes and then fail stopping the blades in mid window. Most often no response from any delay speed but always works in high. Any sugguestions what to check and how to fix this. Than you.

I had similar issues with my '02 XLT (4 Door). I changed the High/Low & Run/Park relays with no luck. Then I changed my multifunction switch with no luck. Then I changed the wiper motor and all is well.

There is a thread about popping the cap on the multifunction switch off and cleaning the contacts to fix wiper issues. I couldn't do this because I have a 3rd Gen. I looked for it but couldn't find it. I will search deeper and report back.

That being said, I would start with cleaning the contacts, Then move onto the relays, then move onto the multifunction switch, then the wiper motor.

I am not familiar with the Sport as it falls into the 2nd Gen catagory. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.

Hope this helps out. :D:thumbsup:

Thanks for help. Where is the multi switch located. If the sport is 2nd gen does the cap come off to clean contacts first.

You are welcome. The multifunction switch is the turn/signal & wiper switch. As far as I know the cap at the end of the switch will pop off allowing you to clean the contacts. I know see that you have a sport trac. Hopefully the sport trac guys will chime in.

Please keep us posted as feedback helps others reading this post looking for a fix to the same or similar issue!

Just finished, pulled cap and disassembled. Cleaned contacts and sprayed area with electrical cleaner, put back together all works fine so far. Thank you for your help.
