wiring an amp for a sub (help)

ok i know how to wire the amp up and everything but the only thing i am worried about is where the best place to drill through the firewall in our trucks for the main power cable to the battery. i would preferrably wire it to another power source so i dont have to take it to my battery but if i have to go to the battery, so be it. anyway wheres the best place to take it and drill? also i forgot where the ignition wire goes (the blue one).. i hooked up my last system a long time ago and my memory just needs to be refreshed. thanks guys!

It needs to be run to the battery. I'm not sure if this is in all years, but in first gen X's there's a hole through the firewall on the driver's side next to the e-brake. It has a rubber grommit that you would be able to shove the wire through. The blue wire goes to the remote wire in your HU (usually also blue).

I agree with huskyfan23...run that power wire to the battery....no question on that one. The rubber gromit right above the brake pedal was the best place on my gen 2. I don't think you really have to drill either....just a little bit of prying.

yeh.. i fit a 0 gauge power wire through that same hole. u should be able to also. and just run it along side the door under that little plastic trim piece.

i didnt run mine though the firewall of the truck

instead i ran it along inside of the front left pannel of the truck and into where the wires come in to the truck from the door, there are several holes in the engine bay...just simply used a old coat hanger to pull the cord though the panel

only bad thing...when i open the door i can see the nice red cable

least its only when u open the door..u dont have it strung accross the pass seat...i swear ill fix that sooner or later =) lol
