if you could get a brand new set for $200? 265/70/16's

I am fully aware of the drastically differing reviews of these tires online. All the way from great to terrible. The snow reviews scare me a bit.

I am not a fan of GY and generally avoid them, but this price is making me consider them. For $200 its almost worth the gamble for me.

I am not an off-roader. The only "off-road" action these tires will see is rain and snow in the winter.

Has anyone had Goodyear Wrangler RTS's on their EX? ARe they really that bad that you would even avoid them for $200?

Thanks for any insight.

Goodyear Wranglers are badass tires, they were featured in this months off-road adventures magazine.

they were the kevlar ones though

I have those tires on my 2wd Ranger (235/75/15). In short I say "get them".

They were new on the truck when I got it (that must have been 4 or 5 years ago). I've taken that little 2x4 down some crazy roads to get to backpacking trailheads, hill climbs, driving over berms, small mud holes, and a lot of other things you "shouldn't" do with a 2 wheel drive. The tires were never a limiting factor (though ground clearance and lack of 4x4 was).

Rain/water isn't a problem, I usually mosh through the large puddles that form in the ditches where I live with no problem. Only been in a couple inches of snow and when I did slide I counter-steered and the tire grabbed hold of the road again. Any more than that and I would have chained up.

I'm religious about proper inflation and rotation, so they've lasted quite awhile. When it came time to get shoes for my Ex I got the Goodyear Wrangler Radial instead cause it had a more aggressive tread pattern.

I have them and have no complaints, just make sure to rotate them often so they dont get choppy and noisey.

I had them on one of my Ex's, no issues. I did not have them during the winter though, so I can't comment there. For $200 though, heck yeah I'd get them, especially for 16's.

Go for them. That saves you about 300 over a different set of new tires.

I hated them, but for the price they're probably worth it.

lol Thats a reply I wanted to see. Someone who hated them, but might still do it for $200.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am going to give them a shot. I will post back how they turn out.
