X-Box runs 13.45@ 101.3mph

Hello Everyone,

Well I'm getting closer to my goal of the 12's. I ran 10 times at Morosso and most were around 13.5 @ 100. The truck is running great, I need to get some slicks and a different stall converter. The blower is putting out 9psi. I also can't brake torque the transmission because once the S/C comes on I lose breakpressure (The brakes don't work under boost). The supercharger was blowing temps at around 270* down the intake's throat, so I think an aftercooler is a good idea. The track temp ranged from a low (last run) 85* to 93*. My new intduction worked great, only added a max 10* to the (basically ambient) track temp. The cold air induction has made a huge improvement. Overall it was hot and muggy. Wait till November for some cool air....

Hey, you ******* lol, you forgot to tell me you were going to Moroso , I would have gone up to watch you. A bunch of us were going to go last Saturday but we all ended up going to see Underworld instead (which kicked ass!).

I know your truck definitley has a high 12 in it, but it's humid as hell down here right now. Once the chill starts setting in, you better give me a ring or email me lol. Have you spoken to Bill or Dan, they got some mean plans for the x right now.

awesome.... I started a project trying to setup and intercooler for my bd-11 but I didn't get too far. A buddy of mine started mess with that cryogenics stuff. That may be an option for you??? I saw it in summit....

...or methanol injection. there are alot of guys out there now running some really high boost/low intake temps. with that stuff.

you can put a intercooler on it you have to change the direction the blower faces though and requires a lot of fab. one way to fit it would to get a small after cooler and use a box upper and samwich it between the tb and the ac box. we are going front mount with troll.

Are you using any heat wrap on the intake, intake manifold, etc? I've heard some pretty amazing numbers from that stuff.

With the big cam I don't have much brakes at low RPM's, and under boost I have less. I don't know why you had them, but I don't. I'm putting on a elec evacuator from a Cobra to create constant vaccum and that should fix it.

What was your best 1/4? Were you spraying it? What was the air temp?

I want a front mount too! I looked at the plumbing and don't think it will be too difficult. I can rotate the blowerhead so it faces striaght up and put a u on it to go next to the radiator and blah, blah, blah, move the battery and back into the intake

I haven't wrapped anything yet. According to my dig thermometer, it's not going to change the air intake temp that much. In traffic, the air intake will go up around 10-20 degrees above the outside temp, but once moving above 5mph it drops to only a few (1-5) degrees above.

I like what you're doing to your truck although I'm afraid I had to drop outta the race at the moment. Having to put alot of money into my business so all this "fun" stuff is being put on the back burner for a little. Getting an F-250 6.0 turbo diesel, crew cab, short bed :-D Anyways, My best 1/4 without was a 13.56 @ 99, if I can remember correctly and my best time spraying with a 75 shot was a 12.96 @ 109. I've done a 125 shot and dropped a second off my time without the blower but I don't think that my fuel system was ready for anymore with the 9lbs of boost being crushed into the cylinders. Air temp.... I really don't know but I did used to throw a bag of ice on the intake pipe and the blower before a run... just cause my buddy who runs 8's all day long does. Seems to work for him. Well youd better do it quick before that T-76 turbo finds its way into his engine bay here soon. lol. I am glad to hear that the problems you told me you were having with your truck last time we talked have been resolved. Unforunately the problems I had with my old truck cannot be fixed. So I had to start over again. So now I am in the modular engine arena. While I know I will not be the fastest older gen explorer. I know I will be in the close running if not the fastest new gen explorer once I get my project ironed out. I guess all my 5.0 supercharger parts will have to go to a 5.0 stang project. I would kind of be cool to own 2 supercharged built explorers, but I want a car too for its lower center of gravity. Man Dom you are sooooo close to breaking the 12 marker. I have faith that you will be able to do it in the near future as long as funding allows. Good luck. Robert

Hey X Box do you have a cardomain site or your own site with pictures i want to see this thing. I raced this guy with a 1991 Supercharged LX 5.0 Mustang and he got me but a car length so i have Superchargers on the brain. Can't wait for the SOHC one to come out.

Did you say you raced a guys in a blown 5.0 fox body stang with your 01 SOHC explorer sport and only lost by one car length?????? I hope I missed something.....like his engine blew or something!!! Or were you meaning you raced him in another car?????

Hey Rob,

I moved to S. Beach and haven't been to the track. I didn't go to the Dyno tune 'cause I broke a valve spring. I just got new springs to accomidate the larger cam. I may run it again in a week or two.

It's going on Ebay next week. I want to see what kind of money it's worth. I want a 4Runner.
