Hey guys,

They are on their way, according to SCT. Below is a few shots from another dealer of the X-cal 2 and the datalogging software on a Laptop.....

I can't wait!

Both for enough money to buy one, and for you to get em' in stock! :-)

I love this thing! Got tired of my old "Apten" chip, especially after some connection issues a while back. Did a deal on on XC2 loaded with three of Bama's programs. Had a small issue with a CEL this weekend, and Doug emails a revision. Going away for a road trip soon and I get my hands on a mileage file. The files are easily uploaded via a standard USB cable and software downloaded from SCT. I haven't even begin to play with the logging features. This is definitely the way to go if you're considering some programming to your Ex. Chips are pretty much dead, IMHO. Flashers are where it's at.

Thanks as always to Doug for the great product support.

Read closer. The photos aren't Doug's. He borrowed from another dealer. Not saying Doug can't afford one, but still...

I love my Xcal2. It's just hard to hide the cost of premium fuel from my wife, LOL. Now I have to fill up when it gets to 1/4 tank instead of near E. Glad I have the 87 octane tune available too.

From SCT ....

This August we will add the following functionality to the XCAL2. These updates will be available thru online firmware updates

1) Standalone data logging. With this update, you will be able to view and record real time PID and DMR data from your vehicle. You can then download the recorded data and play it back in livelink.

2) End User Adjustments. With this update, dealers will be able to send you a new file to load into your device. This new file will contain user adjustment paramaters setup by your dealer. This feature is currently available thru some dealers that are BETA testing the options for us.

We will keep you updated as other new releases come out.

The XCAL2 was a large project in development, and from the beginning the plan was to do the first release of the XCAL2 without end user adjustability until the adjustment features went thru compressive testing both in-house and then thru select field beta testers. Once testing is completed, everyone can get a firmware update and then files from their dealers containing the adjustability and standalone data logging updates. No XCAL2 customer will be left behind, or stuck with something that can't be upgraded with new firmware. End user adjustability is something that we are taking very seriously, and because of that we want to take every possible step to ensure that it provides results and works correctly. Read thru internet and you will find other competitors products that offer end user adjustability still don't even change adjustments properly even though they have been on the market for years.

Finishing the end user adjustability and data logging is our top priority at SCT right now. When the testing is complete, all dealers will be notified. The print ads featuring user adjustability and standalone data logging have already hit magazines, and for that I apologize. Print advertisments usually take 3-4 months to hit the magazines, and the ones featuring end user adjustability went into print early without our control.

What are the different programs available? I know you've got the 86/92 performance and mileage and of course the custom tunes for mods, but what else is there?

The programming can be custome made for any application.

Do these work with non OBDII vehicles?

First off let me say that I am one of the Beta testing dealers and I have been able to enable the end user options for over a month now using the newest SCT dealer software. I also have full controll over the new Drive-By-wire systems in the 02'-up Explorer's so I can make these vehicles really come alive with further tuning, no more throttle lag!

I can adjust for gear and tire size changes on 99 and up Explorer's only because these are the years they put this feature in the PCM, on the earlier ones I cannot as it would need to be done by the dealer in the GEM module back to around 96'.

Also by enabling user options you can make your own adjustments using the tuner for any new tire or gear size changes, there again on the 99 and newer Explorer's.

This doesn't apply to the 5.0 Explorer's as I couldn't do any gear or tire size changes for these as ford never put the feature in the PCM on them but it can be adjusted in the GEM by a knowledgable dealer.

Thanks, Doug.

so umm what to pm me some options on a tuner.. and try not to kill budget at the same time?

I don't answer PM's on here as keeping up with them along with my emails can be very difficult. You need to goto my site and fill out either the contact form or vehicle form for more information. I check and answer my emails Monday through Friday nightly but I don't get to these sites everynight unles I have some free time.

Thanks Doug.
