Just recently upgraded from an '11 Ltd to a '13 Sport silver on black, 402A, sunroof, tow pkg.
Must say, I should have started with the sport!
I do have some questions that the SEARCH button hasn't answered.
1) how does the climate control work with the remote start? I can't seem to understand how to make it a) come on b)set a temp or heated/cooled seat temp

2) a) What's a better upgrade for the headlights, HID or LED? b) I like the look and simplicity of LED, but will it throw adequate light or is it limited by the X's projectors? HID's can be had for cheap these days, LED's are like $100.

3) What fuel does everyone run? I've had n/a and blown mustangs, turbo cars (BMW, Mazda) and they all required premium (91+). Dealer told me it was fine to run 87 in the ecoboost...?

4) Oil changes - 7k mi between changes, on a turbo car? Do you guys to 3-5k in reality?

5) Any cool things the car does that I may not know? My bmw would roll all the windows down if you held the unlock button on the key fob, that kind of thing.

I just ordered an MDesign intake. I really like the look of the kit and hope the sound change is nice too. I know my other turbo and blower cars it made a world of difference in sound and performance with a CAI. I've read that is not so much the case on the EB due to the efficiency of the stock airbox.

Future mods: Tune and tighten up the suspension! I dont' know if some lowering springs will help on their own or if I'll need shocks/struts too. It's 100x better than the Ltd, but with this much power I'd like it to be just a bit tighter.

The settings for climate control for the remote start are covered in the Owner's Manual.
There are existing threads that cover points 2,3 and 4. To do a proper job swapping headlights you must change the internals if you want a proper focus and light distribution. The OEM projectors/reflectors are designed specifically for the OEM bulbs.

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/index.php?threads/oil-change-interval.309598/ There are other threads on this as well.
As for the Global Windows Down feature, it was introduced on the 2017.

As for point 5, I strongly recommend reading through the Manual several times. Many questions posted in these forums have answers found in the Manual.
Changing the suspension will void the 5/60k powertrain warranty. http://www.ford.com/resources/ford/general/pdf/2013Warranty.pdf
Also becoming familiar with using the 'Search' feature (Upper right) will help quite a bit in finding existing threads like those above found using 'Search'. :)

My limit is 5k miles between oil changes. I use fully synthetic only.

93 whenever possible. I'm sure wife will fill it with 87, but if I'm gassing up, I'll use premium 93. No sense not to with gas as cheap as it is.

I'm not sure what pre-16s had, but my '16 came with LEDs. I swapped out my fogs halogens for LEDs for uniform look.

Livernois Motorsports is one of the leaders in Explorer Sport modifications. They are based out of Michigan. Good people, quality products. http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/

Welcome to the family 'SVT95'... I can only speak from the experience of owning my 1 yr old ( 24k miles) 15 Sporty..
My remote starts puts on air or heat depending on the out door temp. works quite well only disappointment is distance to make it work.
I use premium every fill up, I only did CAI-filter change not full intake. I have magnaflow exhaust and love it, Diablo sport tuner on dash, 1
' additional offset on my Fuel wheels with factory tires. Awaiting the delivery of Diode Dynamics ( local dealer) HID conversions, and tinted front windows and sun strip on windshield. Oh and upgraded Audio. other than that mine is stock LOL..
MY HUGE problem is cant drive it enough LOL....Enjoy your new toy

Looks like you got responses for you questions, but here are my responses for 3 and 4.

3. I've been running 93 for quite some time. I ran 87 for a while when gas was close to $4 a gallon. I did notice a performance decrease with the 87, but no change in mileage.

4. I go to about 20% on the OLM with synthetic. I had a couple oil analyses done and they all came back with life left in them. 20% remaining gets me between 7500 and 8500 miles.

Got the MDesign intake installed. I really like how it looks! No real difference other than the engine is a little louder, but I like it!

Just ordered LED headlamps. Hope to get them installed this weekend.

Been looking into tires too. Anyone have recommendations for a better set or are the Hankook Optimo's the best option? They seem ok, but have some sidewall flex. (I get that it's an SUV not a car, lol)
Would like to stay with an all season tire. I used to switch wheels on my BMW from summer only (Nitto NT555XR) to winter only (BLIZZAK)...not sure I want to do that on my XS. What are your guys thoughts?
