I think they stopped that when they went to the SOHC motor. I tried to get my 2001 that way but Ford said the 4 door was not available with a stick anymore. I think they stopped after the 97 or 98 model year.

Jeff, I don't know, I've been thinking, one of the Founders of an Explorer 4x4 club, buys a Suzuki to run the "hard stuff" Haven't you read the other boards, Explorers kick @$$, what's the point, are you just going to use the Ex on trails like the 2wd trail, if so, you may have trouble on Valley, it's washed out and stock trucks can't get up it, although the little STX made it up better than a few modified J**Ps

I bought it because I'm having trouble justifying trashing a $26,000 vehicle off road. If I want to really get into this, I need something that I'm not afraid of beating up a little bit.

Besides, the zuki is easier to work on and cheaper to fix.

I say whatever floats your boat, Jeff Once we're all out on the trail it doesn't matter what you drive (or in my case, don't drive)-all that matters is making it over the obstacles in one piece and having fun!

I had to drive a manual OHV 95 four door XL up onto the bed of the rollback yesterday-I didn't believe they existed either till I actually had to drive one

On that note, I dug a black liner out of the back of that one (it won't fit a two door without some cutting though)


Does anybody want it? It velcros to the back of the seats, too.....

I don't think its rice, it looks pretty cool, but IMHO the old style better suits your truck. The more ornate design would work on something lowered.
