Did the 1991-1994 Ford explorer, or the ford ranger with the dana 35 come equiped with 4.10 gears as a stock option. I've picked up a rear out of a 96 with 4.10s, but all of the junkyards say they can find 4.10 in the dana 28. thanks.

Whats a 28 got to do with it. Is that what you have?

I'm pretty sure that the 4.10's didn't come around until 95-96. I think the lowest gears before that were the 3.73's.

I think they were available.. Look for 42 or D2 on the door sticker to tell you if its a 4.10 axle or not..

Yea, I had a 91 EB 4x4 w/ 4:10s

Man, I'm just a wealth of bad information lately. :lurkmode on:
