First off, Hey guys! I'm new here. I like the wealth of information this site has to offer. however, like any other forum, the search function leaves something to be desired. nothing you can do about that, i suppose.

Meat and potatoes time:

Drivers side window is stuck in the up position. well, NOW stuck in the up position. it originally ended up down. eventually got it to jiggle back up by holding the up button, and going over bumps like railroad tracks and stuff.

The motor works. it tries.

now bear with me here while i try to describe things i don't know the names of.

the flat rods that come off the motor and run along the tracks, we'll call those rods, and the thing they slide on will be called tracks.

the bottom track slides just fine, i took it off and it glides smoothly.

the top track, attached to the window, i THINK slides fine, but i can't tell because it seems as if the rods don't articulate like they should. if they are in an "X" shape, instead of flattening out, it seems though as if its just trying to move straight down. it bows out the inside sheet metal of the door, where the motor is riveted in, and i can't get the window to move more than like, 2 millimeters, just from the motor torque pulling on the bottom track.

do you think the problem could lie with the motor assembly? or possibly a lack of lubrication along the sides of the window.

OH YES! i forgot to mention, the vertical window track that is closest to the door handle side, the bottom portion broke off, but i welded the tab back on, and replaced it. the window doesn't get to that point yet, though. i feel like the cause of this problem caused the tab to break off.
