Your truck is beautiful. You did an excellent job. I like it a lot....

What grill is that? Please explain the process of installing it.

Thanks....

I cant believe how much better the truck looks with painted bumpers. Ford should make them like that from the factory. I believe Jornum did the same thing. He painted the rear bumper as well. If you had a bumper billet grill, it would finish off the front. Oh jeez, I just noticed that you painted the chrome around the grill. that looks real good. If i could make a suggestion, I would take the the side markers off the side view mirrors and mount them on the truck. Check out Jornums truck below and you will see what I mean.

Please explain how you painted the area around the grill. I am looking to do something similar.

Thanks....

Another question, please....

What kind of lights are those in the bumper opening?

Thanks....

You may be able to get your springs cut a little to lower the front end more.

Steve

how did you paint that crome. Wont the paint flake of easily. I didnt know paint would stick to crome.

Ryan

looks great man! need some rimz and lo-pro tires and you should be cruisin.. as far as the front, you may have to get some drop spindles.. cutting springs will make it look bow legged unless you do it like 1/2" or so, make sure that doesn't happen, that ruins many a low vehicle.. having the front wheels bow out

oh yea! almost forgot.. you may also wanna paint that wiper cowl.. I'd like to do that to mine, but I'll never get around to it.. I'm a procrastonator

Nice looking ride. I love the look from the front.

looks great. i like the all red color scheme.
are you going to paint the wiper arms the same color as the rest of the truck too?

He does NOT have Springs, hence the Torsion Bar Twist!

Hey good point.

ok where i got the stuff

got my grill from a local performence shop 130 bux,.. you can get it alot cheeper http://www.nopi.com
freakin cake to install man..... they tell you its hard..... but its really not... chop off your old bars and screw that beeoootch in!!

ordered my clear lenses from there, they havent come in yet, the ones on there now are a cheep break the orange reflector job.. LOL

fog lights are nice... 55w each (same wattage as factory headlights)
picked em up at AutoZone, for 50 bux. they have a little 5w blue bulb built in to each one of them to light up the fog houseing at night when the fogs are not on.

come on now.... my car compared to Jornums??? no way.. his is like 5 times better. i like mine tho........ one thing.... i love my turns in my mirrors never saw one person with them before.... just me =)

yea that paint around the grill was long.... not too hard.... but time consumeing...... basically you got to scuff down the plastic (not chrome) just looks chrome..... very high grit sandpaper and take off that cheep imitation chrome.... use some type of paint promoter... like a primer or like i did bond-aid (like a clear primer, pick it up at a paint shop or AutoZone) give it like 3 or 4 coats of color matched spray touch up paint (also another AutoZone Item) get your paint code from your car and match it up and get a big can of the stuff... like 4 bux i think.... let that dry and let it dry between coats.... buy a bottle of clear coat too... i gave mine 3 coats of clear... came out nice.... only until i get my resray then i get it professonaly done...

THE BUMPER......
now the chrome plated not real crome again... bumper.... i did it the easy way cuz i know im gonna paint it again when i get my re-spray. ... i used that BondAid and sprayed it down then painted it i should have sanded the chrome plateing right off.... witch i will do before my respray... it took 3 coats of red and 3 coats of clear.... looks like it will hold up fine for now...

Doing my wiper cowl tommorow morning... =)

THE WIPERS??? OO MAN nooooo way thats tooo..... honda for me lol!!!
but i mean of thats what lifts your skirt than thats cool... no serriously i probably would if it wasnt so common where i live.. every one and there mother with a Honda Civic and Accord got that done

NOW I ANSWERED ALL OF YOUR QUESTTIONS..... I JUST HAVE ONE OF MINE UNASWERED.... WHAT DO I DO WITH MY FRONT END... NEED TO DROP IT MORE... I DONT HAVE SPRINGS.. TORSION BARS...... im so discouraged cuz i see a few pictures online with some explorers slamed but no answers how to do it!!!

BTW... found a V8 for my truck... realllly cheep... but its from a mustang... A 10 SECOND MUSTANG crazy engine work done to it... one question... can the mods on the engine go with it in to my truck??? headers.. and all that crap??

i heard the same thing about the paint trying to flake and chip easily when i went to a well repected body shop near my house that does incredible work. i dunno man, keep us posted on if it chips or gets dings, otherwise im gonna paint mine black

thats the site i see some slamed EXps but no answers on how to do it.. =(

Clowwny, nice ride! As for the front torsion. how much did you bring it down? Did you trim the bump stops, removed them, or just leave them as is. I heard on some torsion bars on the EX won't go lower then 2inches. Also, I heard you can take the bolts on the bars completely out, I don't know if thats a good idea. If there's nothing to be done, then I would probably go with a 2inch blocks for the back. Unless you really want to get into airbag suspension, then thats totally different and some $$. Like Leenjen said, go check out the message board on explorerunderground. Hope this helps

Now don't quote me but can't you get drop spindels?(sp)
I know that on ExplorerExpress.com they have a lowering kit and they say: "Includes aluminum lowering blocks, special u-bolts, front camber adjusters and detailed instructions. Front end alignment will be required after installation. 2 door kit is for front only. "
http://www.explorerexpress.com/catalog/catalog.html?5602

explorer express.... explorer rip off??

ok, i think explorer express is a rip, there lowering kit is blocks with u-bolts and instructions on how to twist your torsion bars..... and a few offset washers they call a camber adjustment kit, i paid 25 bux for my 3 inch blocks with u-bolts and did a free torsion bar twist... i dont know guys.... but am i the only one that thinks thats a tad shady??????? what a rip off.... i should sell my kit with instructions for 50 bux

make my self 20 bux every package i sell....

do you think 18s will be ok for rims... with low profiles??? once u hit 19" and higher the price is rediculous.

i cut my bump stops in the front in half so theer not being rested on.... im gonna jack it up today and take the torsion bolts out completely then screw them in like 2 turns.... just enought to keep them there... then see what happens... maybe it took some time to settle ... i dont know
