Your Ideal Explorer

I was wondering what everyone's ideal explorer is. I mean in terms of year, trim line, engine, options, etc. I am just wondering, because with gas prices so high, SUV's are dropping in prices, and should I decide to get a different Explorer, I want to know what is the best setup.

My Perfect Explorer:
1997 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition, Black
5.0 L V8 with K&N intake, AWD
Moonroof, leather(later models had crap seats), JBL Audio, CD changer

i would get the one i have! a 98 4 door black, grey interior, awd (id rather manual 4x4 but that is just a t-case swap away) and the 5.0

now thats the base.
my ideal explorer is the one im building:

sas ~6" lift, chopped back, 331 stroker, custom tube bumpers w/ winch, 35 in tires.

thats my explorer, soon to be completed by the end of next year with everything.

I love mine. My 97 has not had a single issue....but the damn gas gauge!!.

I'd just paint mine different and make it Eddie Bauer. I love the black with tan trim and tan leather.

SWEET...i have that exact same vehicle..except the SOHC. I went SOCH casue theres only somewhere arouend 5hp difference, and i didnt want to mess with the hassle of AWD. IIt makes me feel good...except my trans is gone..oh well.
