Zombie Assault Preparedness Vehicle or ZAPV

I saw a vehicle with "Zombie Removal Team" on it. I didn't know I started something this big!

You didn't.... others have been doing it for years... even before Zombie movies came back into popularity. I've been concerned with Zombie Apocalypse readiness for quite some time

I'm really going all out with the explorer I have now.... first step restoring most of the truck so stuff will last another 20 years, second step customizing for durability and drivability (not going to wild with changes, a 1st gen is almost as capable as I think I will need, most will be for utility, visibility and durability), third will be a diesel engine swap...

Ive thought about a diesel swap too, probably won't do it but I thought about it.

well, either way, I am done with the restoration step... aside from rust... but I am going to tackle that at the same time as modifications so I don't have to paint over and over again.

Diesel.... well... I am just crazy for diesels.... Doesn't help I was a diesel mechanic for so many years.... I've almost talked myself out of a 4bt or b3.3 though, just because I don't need all that torque... thought about a 4bd1t (isuzu diesel almost identical to a 4bt) just because I can get them wicked cheap.

Honestly though... I will probably end up going with a mercedes om617 because those engines will outlast any vehicle they are put inside of, or a volkswagon 1.9tdi. Either one of them is somewhat under-powered... but I don't tow with this truck... In stock form, they are only short around 20-30 horsepower (which I can get out of them easily) and they are both making torque inline with or better than what the OHV 4.0 make, so, I'm sure they can pull this truck around on the highway. The om617 will probably be what I go with in the end at this point, especially now that I found that it should fit without major modification, which I wasn't expecting.

They are as hard as putting any engine into a vehicle that doesn't belong in the vehicle.... so very hard and expensive. Plus, the engines tend to cost a bit more than your standard gasser

update on some stickers i got. dont order stickers from http://www.supportourribbons.com/ the magnets i cant vouch for, but the stickers suck.
theyre cheap and thin. i had one on my back window and we just had snow, i went to wipe the snow off the window and the sticker flaked off.

im getting my zapv stickers from blee soon so thatll fix that problem

Some one needs to come up with deailed plans for a basic steel bumper for the 1g cause the. I can weld spikes/recovery tools plus zombie killing axe on it. Already made me a gun rack to hold my ar's and vests

xeek they probly use calendar vinyl insead of cast vinyl the cast is for trucks cars dirtbikes ect but the calendar is for like inside banners and things that wouldnt be in the elements sorry run a diecut vinyl business outta my basement just havent had time with my full time job to cut some official #s for the explorer im thinking block military-like numbers

lol i work retail and we were throwing away 10 manqins.. well lol i made my own little zombie attack.. hitting one at 30 is great but any faster will mess up ur stock bumper quite nicely lol... im in need of a i beam bumper
