Performance Lighting

Aftermarket lighting. Driving lights, fog lights, rock lights, HID, halogen. Make your Ford Explorer light up the night!!
Good evening all! I've installed LED lights on my truck already, however it was just an amazon relay harness that's worked very well! But I'm about to mount up some roof lights and all the harnesses I've searched for aren't long enough for where I'm wanting to mount. My question is this. What kind of wires do I need? Automotive wire doesn't seem the same as speaker wire. What's considered the best wires for relay harnesses? Any suggestions and advice would be very appreciated. I love learning this stuff!
I've been playing around with the idea of wanting a LED light bar above my windshield on my 96 XLT. Turns out, nobody makes the standard door jamb mounts specifically for them. They do for Rangers, F-150s, etc.. Question is: who has successfully used mounts or brackets designed for the vehicles mentioned above, or know where to get the Explorer 2nd gen mounts from? It also seems it's only 50" or 52" in that area.
96 Ford Explorer XLT. Replaced every single interior/exterior bulb to LED except headlights (still waiting for those). I also used a LED flasher relay to prevent "hyper-flashing". All lights work fine, except when using my turn signals, the third/high mount brake light lights up, but is dim & kind of sporadically blinks. The other issue is that sometimes when using my brakes, the passenger side only blinker will come on but not blink. Some weird issues & was hoping if anyone can help before I do the same conversion on my Dad's Explorer here soon. Thanks!
Hey all. Just ordered a 22" light bar to install under the grill between the grill and number cover (the open a lot with nothing in it). Anyways, I want a factory look to my led light at switch install. I'm wondering if the false switch in between my two heated seat switches can be replaced with an active switch in witch I can wire to my light bar. I don't want any aftermarket switches inside the vehicle at all. Going for a clean factory look. I have a 2010 Eddie Bauer 4x4. I'll snap a pic of what I'm wanting to replace with an active switch and post it. Thanks for any and all help
I'm looking for a good, easy way to mount some auxiliary driving lights to the front of my 2015 Explorer. I've seen the bull bars, brush guards, push bumpers, etc., and while they would work they cost a bit more than I'd like to spend and are overkill for what I want. I just want to mount 2x 6" lights around the front bumper area and am looking for an off-the-shelf solution that costs less than a bull bar. Does such a thing exist?
I thought this idea would be cool although I may be the only one that thinks that, I couldn't find another thread that asked the same question. Would it be possible for an easy swap of a third brake light from a truck that has the bed light in it that bolts onto the 98-01 explorer? Thought it might be nice to have the lights for hooking up the trailer or more light behind me. Thoughts?
Hello all, First time on the forum and hoping some fellow members can help me out with a dilemma I'm having. My father-in-law has a 2015 Explorer Sport thats fully loaded. He wanted aftermarket HID's to help him see better at night. He asked if I could install them for him as every car I own has the same kits in them. So. he ordered the kit for the headlight and foglights from DDM Tuning. Everything came in, everything went in without a hitch. He then told me he had ordered a set of daytime run lights(or DRL's) that he wanted installed as well. This is how the nightmare started... Where do I begin? Well, the lights were "universal 6-LED" drl's. I mounted them under the bumper and all looked great. Time to run the wires. Well, the...
hey guys I have a 1998 explorer Xlt and I was just curious as to what brackets to get to mount a 50" curved light bar above the windshield. I haven't been able to find any for any explorer but have found some for rangers and f150's of the same year. Would either of these work? Or is it one of those things where I have to break out the welder and make my own? Thanks!
