I have a 91 4x4 , during the summer i was getting good gas mileage. But now that it has cooled off it has dropped to around 10 to 13 mpg, it also seems to really suck the gas when it sits and idles. any suggestions?

Whens the Last time your fuel filter was changed? I couldnt remember the last time mine was, and i changed it and recived around a 1-2 mpg increase. They say their good for the life of the vehicle, but i wouldnt listen to that, they get pretty dirty.

Air filter ! Change that now!

You say that your mileage got worse when the weather cooled off. A stuck (in the open position) radiator thermostat would cause this to happen, because the computer sees the engine is not warmed up, and orders a richer fuel mixture. Replacement is cheap and relatively easy.:p:

Agreed. I changed my t-stat and I'm getting a bit better mileage now. But a clean, high flow air filter will do wonders too.
