hey guys I’m new to the forum I have a 98 explorer XLT with the 5.0 . I heard a hissing sound like leaking air coming from my wheel well today and seen a vacuum hose line gashed open it’s in my driver side wheel well and is a regular rubber hose . I was wondering if anyone knew the specific name if i wasn’t right and the easiest way to swap this out if anyone knows or recognizes the hose . Thank you for your time

I agree, purge valve hose. The purge valve lives under the battery. Remove the battery and its tray to gain access to it. The other end of the hose goes to the intake manifold. You may need to get creative in replacing the hose, which is no longer obtainable from any source I know of.

Here are more pics . And any suggestions on how to fix this sucker ? Can I get a new hose that’s the same size ? Can I cut the hose and use a connector to splice in more hose ?
