Cam Position Sensor Picture 96 4L

Picture CMP for 4.0L Thanks guys, I've done the searches both here in this forum and at any other place I could think of. I've got pictures of the CMPs, of 5.0L CMP locations, instructions on how to fix, warnings on how attempts to fix can be screwed up, etc. These are of no help to me if...

    Michelins Nordic 225x15 OK?

My tires are 225x75 R15s. Those are the stock sizes for my 96 XL. I know most afficionados are running bigger tires. I have checked with a few tire specialists and the tell me I should not have any problems with these tires. Thanks, Denis

    Michelins Nordic 225x15 OK?

These tires were on an older Crown Vic but are super for snow and ice. It seems I have read somewhere that car tires were not suitable for a 4x4. Are they strong enough for putting on my 96 stock 4dr Explorer? Thanks, Denis

    Where is the DRL module?

'96 DRL FOUND ! FOUND IT ! The DRL is under the LH driving light under the bumper attached to the front of the cross member just outside the bumper attachment. The bumper wraparound prevents anyone from seeing it unless you are on your back looking up. BTW, replacing the DRL seems to have...

    Where is the DRL module?

Hi, my '96 with 140,000 kms is giving me plroblems with the elec. system. I'm located in Ontario, but the truck comes from the maritimes originally. From other posts here, I am pretty sure the problem is with the DLR module and have decided to change it. Only problem is that I cannot...

What seats will fit my 91 ??

Seats from other Ford products would probably fit. I used Escort seats in a Bronco II. Measure the width of the tracks and go to a recycler. . . . Good Luck:bounce:

what is reason for Noise in 4WD Low range

I have a 96 XL with auto 4WD, 133000KMs. When I put it in low range, the transmission is very noisy, expecially when turning. I tried this on solid dry ground - not pavement. I seem to recall that Ford had a service bulletin about this but cannot find it. Can anyone help on the cause...

Check Gage and Temp Gauge repair

Someone may have a better explanation than this but this is what I think happens: 1. Power goes to the gauges which are connected to the sensor. 2. When the sensor grounds, this activates the gauge (when it works of course). Power is consumed and is too low for the Check Gage to light. 3...

Check Gage and Temp Gauge repair

No, I replaced the Temp\fuel gauges cluster only. They are easy to pop out and in once the plastic is removed - about 30 minutes altogether including cleanup. But I had to buy the whole instrument cluster - that seems it's the only way the local junk yard (sorry RECYCLER) sells these things...

Is there any place where I could get a list of the original options on my '96? Like those the dealer has stuck in the windows of their new vehicles. I'm trying to find if mine has remote locks, start, etc.... Denis

Check Gage and Temp Gauge repair

Thanks for the help. Looks like the gauge itself is shot. Grounding turns on the "Check Gage" light but not the temp gauge itself. Now to chase down a working temp gauge . . . . Denis

Yes, the temperature gauge is very low. As far as I can tell it does not move from the lowest point. Denis

Check Gage and Temp Gauge repair

I just got a used 96 XL with 131Kilometers. The Check Gage light was on and off - no real pattern. And the Temp gauge flutters a bit but did not move. After checking the site here, I have now replaced both temp sensors and the thermostat with Ford parts. Check Gage light is now on constantly...
