5 Speed Shift Linkage...

Just picked up a 91 XLT 4.0 w/5 Speed. There sure is alot of "slop/throw" in the linkage. Is that normal? Maybe I am just used to my 03 Tacoma, not sure.

Anyway, is there any recomended aftermarket linkage with a tighter/shorter throw out there?

I just got a shifter for the manual BW1354 t-case. I noticed it had a lot of slop, too. Upon disassembly, I noticed some (severely) worn plastic bushings in various nut/bolt connections. Ford has got to make a rebuild kit for the shift linkage or those bushings should be available individually. If there are springs and clips, it helps to replace those, too.
