I have an idea on how to make an 'inexpensive' roll pan for my `92.

I have read in a few threads that the Ranger `pan is too narrow, and that you should start with an F-150 pan, and cut it to length.

Exactly HOW much wider is an Explorer than a Ranger? I'm talking about the 91-92 Explorer and 91-92 Ranger. Anyone have a measurment of the width of the 'tailgate' from a 91-92 Ranger, and width of the hatch from an X handy?

I also think I'll have to go with an 'offset' license plate housing.

Has anyone ever even put a rollpan on a 1st gen?

i dont reember where... but i have seen some first gens with rollpans...

I'm interested in the idea

Racinjason has a pan(among many other things) on his first gen, but it was all custom made by him. Not sure how that helps. =\

Lengths are a non issue. The issue is with the ends of the pans, which need to be rounded on an Explorer. Ranger pans are flat.
