has anybody ever seen Navigator rims on an explorer. i saw some 17 inch ones on ebay and thought they would look cool with some good tires. but will they bolt up and do they have the correct backspacing?

Im pretty sure bolt pattern is different.

The bolt pattern is different, and the backspacing is too positive for a second gen.

can i use some wheel adapters that would space it far enough?

i dont think it would work.. pretty sure the expedition has larger holes for the studs and defiantly uses different lug nuts altogether there flat back, and the explorer has centering nuts.

they are 6 stud rims, explorer is a 5 stud hub.
