- 2013 Explorer XLT
Some background then my question: I have a 2013 Explorer XLT with 6-way power driver seat. The horizontal (forward/back) adjustment stopped working while the seat tilt and vertical (up/down) adjustments still work fine. I see there are 3 individual motors under the driver seat controlling each of the 3 adjustments.
My question: assuming the horizontal motor stopped working should I be able to have my dealer install a replacement Motor Assembly-Seat Adjuster (for driver 6 way power seat) (at $174 from Ford Parts website + labor) vs. replacing the entire driver seat track (at $1200 plus labor)? I realize the issue could be anywhere along the line: from the 6-way driver controller/switch, through the wires/plugs to the horizontal motor.
Anyone out there who can offer some of their relevant experience? Thank you!
