Looks good man, i'm putting a full width from a 79 in my explorer (basically the same axle). What are you using for your trac bar mount? I have the stock mount off the bronco (?) but I dont' think it's going to be strong enough considering what i'll be doing with the rig. Also, since you used the 78 full width how did you get your upper buckets to match the lower ones? I kno you can turn the lower buckets the other way around to get them nearer the center but i'm not sure if that's enough to get them lined up with the uppers...or did the buckets you got from bronco graveyard space the coils out enough? If so.......can i have the part number hahaha
On the lower coil retainer I measured in 1.25" from the stock holes and redrilled. Thsi relocated the bottom in 1.25"
For the buckets I used 2" rectangular steel to bump the Bronco Graveyard buckets out 1.5"s from the frame.
If you view the link on the first post you will see all the brackets that I made.
this is going to be sick. are all those explorers yours, and if they are i am jelous. how are you going to smooth out the metal body you cut. lets see some pics of the befor and after once yu think you are don.

Oh lol i totally spaced on thos pics. Still didn't see any pics of your trac bar mount, except for the tie down...that might need some beefing up lol. Looks good...i'm planning on extending my sway bar so and building brackets or using a set of james duff brackets that i've been promised, that way i dont' have to shim the ra mounts. Also heard (maybe you can confirm this) that a set of 70-73 upper spring buckets space the springs out enough so that you dont' have to shim the buckets out...just wondering.
awhat all is involved in moving the axle forward? just move the coil buckets ahead, and make some new radius arm mounts?
how does your steering work with the axle moved up?
sorry for all the questions, but I am going solid, and I want all the information possible.
looks great
Mine is 3.5" forward. I used different Radius arm mounts than Brian to move it 3.5" forward from stock but my buckets are only 2" forward from stock. That was the furthest I wanted to move my buckets forward based on the raised drivers side. Brian probably doesn't have that as a concern because of the wider axle.
I am no longer building this White Explorer. I bought a fully built rig from Michael on this site.
My built fullwidths and 38's are being mounted to this rig as we speak. I will update in a new thread.
Glad to hear that Michael's rig will stay in the family. Was it everything but the suspension that you got from him? I remember seeing in his for sale thread that it was sitting on the trailer with no susp.
