Sorry, my bad, somehow i missed the second line of your post. Yup for the first line.
And if you keep it under 2" the CVs should be ok.

so after all of this, il be spendin around $150? (alignment + shackles)

how am i supposed to know when it's been lifted to 2 inches?

I'm really horrible at all of this stuff, my knowledge of tools is almost non existant.. bah.. would some place do this for me, or is it a no no, kinda like the larger tires for explorers (damn firestone)

Put on the shackles, crank up the torsion bars, grab the tools you used for the tt and go drive around till they settle and if the truck isn't even crank them up more or down a little depending on your need.

Probably covered in the TT 101 thread.

Or you could lower your garage door over your hood until it's 2" away. When your truck hits the garage door you've made it.

OR

use a tape measure and check it after about 5 full revolutions. make sure you did both sides the same. The bottom of the wheel well or a pinstripe is an easy point to check that will be constant.

say i use the measuring tape (no garage anyways) where would i measure from? anywhere?... bumper, frame?..

would a shop do this?

I also don't really have any tools or a 2nd jack.. =\

Could I use a leatherman? =P

Sadly.. I've used it for everything else... Intake, cb install, re-wiring things to the battery with new terminal thingies... god im horrible..

lol, i'm sure i could figure it out, i am worried about snapping the bolts though, was doing my front brakes and broke the bolt to the caliper.. makes me think the other bolts in this truck are bout to go...

Check this thread. Helpful

Shackles - http://www.jackit.com/shackles/shackle_ford.htm

If you don't have tools call this guy. I heard his dad is a TV repair man and has a gnarly set.

don't forget to pick up some pb blaster at the store and spray those bolts beforehand so they can soak up and hopefully move a little easier!

whats pb stand for incase the person has no clue what im talking about, or is that the actual product name?

lol, i was expecting that..

It's just PB Blaster, it looks like this. You need to take that yellow thing off the top to spray it though. Probably won't need if if you use a leatherman cause you won't snap bolts.

and PB stands for Water Displacement it's German

Where to buy?

Hey all:
After reading all I could here on this topic of the 2inch lift I'm ready. I have a 2000 Explorer Sport. No heavy off road use here.

So if I understand it right I will do a TT lift for the front but keep it under 2 inches and a front end alignment after.

I will go with Warrior Shackles that give me a 2 inch lift? I seen it posted as: WAR-153 is that correct?

So If yes to these then can someone help me find a link to buy these Warrior WAR-153 as I have searched and can not find where to buy them. On the links I found some links where no longer or did not list this part number.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

Where to buy?

For the front, you got it.

For the shackles, they actually only lift about 1.25" - 1.5".

Here is a link to them.

Hey: Thanks man for the link I was running out of gas trying to track them down. I take it that these are the biggest lift from shackles out there within that 2" that I need. If others please advise with a link to purchase. Otherwise I will set the fronts up to match the rears after they are done as not to apear driving up hill. lol

Other option is make some yourself, or see if someone is kind enough to make you a set.
