Soa or 4dr leaf swap?

Now I might be getting Camburg uppers with heim joints off a ranger edge for $300. The guy has uppers and lowers for $800, but he's deciding wether or not he wants to seperate the two.

i have a two door and i put aal in it. it did make it stiffer, but it wasn't bad, it wasn't that stiff and it still rode nice on the street and offroad. if your looking at high speed stuff, i don't think you want softer shocks. the softer the shocks are the more bouncy your car will be.

Actually that depends on how stiff your spring rates are. If shocks and springs are both stiff then thats no good at all and will buck around really badly. Softer springs and a stiffer/valvable shock combo obviously is what works best.

I have an AAL with pro comp shocks and it is pretty bad. Washboard roads and rough stuff cause the rear end to kick out badly. Im just gonna switch the shocks out to some stock ones soon and see if there's any difference.

be cautious when buying parts from him. Make sure the serial number isn't scratched off.

^^^lmao at danny , as i am now going out to check my serial numbers...:shifty_ey

...micromachine, r u coming down to o'neil park??? i'll be around spots 20-45...:D

You guys doing a run this weekend?

Thanks to Froader I got the aals and put them on yesterday. I'll test them out at trabuco in a little bit. They did add about an inch to my rear and I feel no difference in the ride quality.

The deaver G50 race pack for the ranger will fit our explorers with a modified shackle. Its runs 450-525$.

i've seen a few explorers with the g50 pack and stock shackles, fits pretty good for 33" tires.

After testing out the aals they worked really good. Never once stuffed the tire and Tbars says looks like I got about 2" more clearance. Now that I got the rear sorted out for now I think I'm gonna throw on some Btf custom uppers. The dude with the camburg stuff decided he only wants to sell the uppers and lowers together. $650 bucks is really cheap, but then I gotta get new spindles, coil buckets, coils. And money just isn't there right now. But with extra $$$ coming in may, maybe it'll still be available....

Just FYI camburg spindles are 1000$. Seriously just get the BTF uppers and put on a set of limit straps and you will be good to go for a fraction of the cost. Here are the uppers...

I think that's what I'm gonna do. You say it was like 400 bucks? And he'll be able to make them work with the spindles I have now..?

Thanks man. Still gotta get out there to see your ride. Too bad you couldnt make it out to trabuco this weekend.

So now that I know how much the btf uppers are gonna cost I don't know what to do first.....I'd have to save a little to get the btf's or I can go out and get my aussie locker and have that in by next week. I don't know what's more important and what order I should go in.....:dunno: I'm gonna make a quick stop in pismo next friday and then go up to sf and on the way back hit up hollister svra. I don't plan on getting crazy up there, just check out the two parks. Anyone have a suggestion?
