Hmmm i wonder if that really started out as a 3rd gen? Looks nice for sure, ive been seeing alot more built explorers lately. There is a gold colored one over on DR that has to be the nicest/most built explorer ive seen yet.

now it did not, they just modeled their fiberglass after a Gen III, the entire truck is custom, the frame that is still there (middle section only) I believe was a Gen II Explorer

WOW that is amazing! More money in it then i make in a year ha

I gotta get ahold of Baker soon to see about some custom front glass for my explorer.
Please ask em about the headlight decals too!! Needing a pair in a bit

Ouch! more info?

Ask them about Gopher's explorer too, and why they sucked balls at fabbing the front end they charged him way too much for...

Actually theres a long drawn out thread about them on DR. They let interns work on thier ****, and the work coming out of there has been piss poor lately. They actually have a program where you pay them 6k they let you work there and learn how to do the work. Unfortunatly they learn to do the work on customers trucks. Stupid program for sure, and its giving them a very very bad name.

wow that sucks couldnt hold it together I guess
If I took my truck in and they told me this I would be like "later!" plenty of good fab shops in So Cal that deserve your $$$...

It took a while for Winter and a few others to make it able to drive home on the highway... I think he was going 30mph down the wash and broke the upper shock/coil and lower shock mounts. If he had been going faster (as you know, 30mph in a truckhaven wash is not fast) or this happened on the highway on the way home, he and his father could be dead! It's effing ridiculous! Then John was a total dick to him when he told him what happened and gave him the run-around about getting it back in there to fix it.

Here is a pic (not the best) I took of it when he first got it done. I think I have more on the home puter so I'll show those when I find them.

The sweet coil mount.

Wow, that is awesome... Just another reason to let everyone know to never have them do any work on their trucks.

Work at Baker Motorsports = Overpriced, slow as can be and ****TY!

Sorry, I get a little fired up at things like this.

Yeah there's alot of people staying away from them now. Im glad i found a damn good fabber, besides some of the garage fabbers turn out just as nice of product as the big name shops. Post up some more pics if you have them, id be glad to post them over there and see what they have to say. Did he ever get it resolved??

thats a real shame they had a great thing going there for a while, obviously they had th eability at one point to turn out some sick fab too bad it went downhill from there!
Risky business that fab stuff, I'll stick with just my own junk :)

Sounds to me its a matter of greed. Any shop that will let someone work in there shop for a fee is nuts. Why the hell would you do that? lol.. Just doesnt make sense to me. Its the human way, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I wish i could fab my own stuff. Im gonna learn how to do basic stuff real soon. But ill stay away from trying to design an LT a-arm setup for awhile lol.

yeh i was gonna intern there last year but thinking about just going to the fab school in riverside. its great advice hearing about baker, i almost went with them to do my cage.

Seriously from everything ive been told and read youll learn just as much if you buy a welder and bender and the tools and learn yourself. Fabschool isnt cheap at all.

That first pic looks photoshopped! Look at the telephone poll that goes nowhere! The truck DID look sick though.
