You guys that are looking for a c4 I found mine about 4 yrs ago. you can get one out of a 1978,1979,1980,1981,1982. mustangs the ones that came with the 2.9v6,2.8 v6, just thought I give you a little help :biggthump

My 700-R4 has never given me a problem either. I have sat close to vertical twice now, bith times in Moab. Once on Widowmaker and once in Mickey's hot tub and have never had a problem, not even a burp.

Thanks for the input guys .. I did find a manual M5 2 hours south of me. Its from a 2001 Explorer so it should be an HD cauz the OHV terminated at the end of 2000. I'll try to pick it up next week.

I am glad you chimed in on this subject Kevin, your truck was the first one that came to my mind as I saw the underside of it plenty in Moab this year.

my tranny is usually pretty dependable, but it went out when i did the following.....

we run a C4 in tom's buggy (major rock from werock)..and do MUCH steeper...just seal the dipstick at the tranny...and add another quart...never slips..nothing else done to it..

I've had my explorer EXACTLY the same angle suck air...now(did) run an extra quart in it..no problems!!

The beam going across is reinforced at the center (where there are no holes and the four welded notches) with an internal structure for any forces from the rear winch -- it will be plated up some more and whatever else is needed.

Ahah I didnt even notice that! My has time flown.

Only update I got is that I picked up my M5OD-R1 of the HD variety on Thuuuuursday from Richmond, Virginia. I said "suhhh, may I have s'more M5OD". He said "bohhh, you aint from 'round here eys ya?". I said "n-n-n-n-noo suhh, I'm from up north". He said "bohhh, I aint evu heard of nobody from the north come down hea. yuh dum or som'm boahhh?". So I stabbed him in the stomach, threw the transmission into the passenger's side of the Civic, and dumped the clutch. On my way home, I bypassed the gruelling I-95 traffic by heading North-East towards one of the tributaries of the Chespapeak for some fine local food at a town called Tappahannock. -Fin-
