I have no idea what to think of this.

Wow IZ, you amaze me not only with your fabbing skills, but with your wonderful thoughts.

"Wonderful".......................Not the word I was thinking of, but to each his own.:p:

No kidding! My heep will be done before this, and it's just getting new axles and part of a driveline... Iz, get this bundled up for Moab. That gives you 4 1/2 months and I don't want to be the person traveling from the eastern most point ;)

Maybe there is no pictures because Iz'z camera, and possible Iz, are frozen. I heard its real cold in those parts. I went to the beach this weekend because its been over 80f all this week.

That'd be pretty weak, cause I just walked out and got my gears and install kit off the front porch. We're expecting starting tonight the temps to be below 0 for the next 48hrs and windchill below 40! Enjoy that beach, and we'll enjoy making fun of IZ's lack of work!

Your probably right, i bet he's sitting in the bingo shuttle with the heater on high!

I was going to say I have one It would mean a ride tho. Pm me if you are interested. It is a 94 and not HD:dunno: I'll be willing to travel somewhere around 1/2 way.

to answer your question from 3 pages ago, my C5 is bolted up to my stock t-case with push button, my other C5 is sitting in my back yard still bolted up to a manual t-case.

Thanks for the reply.

Quick question: at T-Haven, like on CJ-Hill and other steep climbs (Waterfall?), did you feel your C5 go into Neutral as you approached vertical? I ask cauz I've experienced this on my 5R55 automatic -- its scary and I obviously want to try prevent this.

Is that neutral or no fluid to the pump? It must be hard on it either way??

Yeah its the lack of fluid to the pump.
I started a thread on this maybe a year ago and I think most people said to just overfill the trans a bit.

But I ask Danny cauz I do remember seeing his Explorer go almost completely 90 degrees with only the rear bumper preventing it from rotating all the way. I know my Explorer would have done the neutral thing (lack of fluid) before the angle he was at.

The 700r4 doesn't do that (starve for fluid). and neither do the manual transmissions.

..neither do the manual transmissions.
Thats why I'm leaning towards a manual trans right now -- the C5 is an attractive option but its difficult finding one locally that will fit (4wd).

Neutral roll is scary as HELL! My A4LD use to do that crap.

yes, this is a problem in my truck. I have a B&M deep pan that I have not taken apart yet to see if I have a deep pickup as well as a 6" spacer that may or may not fill up with fluid between my transmission and t-case(the idea explained to me by the prior owner for this spacer was to keep the front driveshaft stock length as it's short enough the way it is.

Honestly, I just don't want to take apart my truck for fun for the same reason as your Dana 60 swap is now on page 2148

I need to get this under control before I continue to make climbs like this with the truck losing driveline power and floating. It's scary, especially since momentum is one of my tools to use when driving over obstacles.
