Not really Sport Trac related, but I think only the ST crowd would care, if anyone does.

Traded in the 2004 Tahoe Z71 4x4, 155,000 miles, original transmission...

...for a 2009 Ford Edge

Nice , Gotta Love a Black Ford !

i think its a great trade as long as you dont have 6 kids. you are going to save a ton on gas and insurance, and it'll be a little easier to manuver and park around town. and you still have the trac as the weekend type toy.

Nice trade. Gonna save a bunch of money on gas, maintenance and insurance. More money to go to school bills, the Cougar and ST. Won't your girl miss driving a lifted truck though?

Nice trade. I love driving our rented Edge's... Not too much cargo room, but the vehicle itself is really nice and easy to drive.

Thanks guys. She really loved it but didn't let me know until after I said, "ok, we should do that." That's a big deal for her because she usually lets me know immediately when she really wants something.

The Edge was as small as I could get her into but she didn't feel like it was too small. She did comment on how people aren't going to just get out of her way, now.

We initially went to the dealership (only one in the world I trust, Hardy Ford in Dallas, GA) to see what the "running motor noise" and ABS light. ABS module was gone: $1,000 quoted. The gauge cluster started acting up last week and was showing 140 mph at 65. Asked how much that part would be for me to fix myself: $600. Then I considered that we spent $2,800 on repairing the 4x4 last year and the fact that the original tranny had 155k miles on it. It was immaculately and routinely maintenanced by GMC dealers it's whole life, but I could see where this was going. I think we just dumped all those issues on them (they'll just auction it anyway). Gave us $6k and even though I thought it was a tad low, I jumped on it (they originally offered $4,200).

We figured to save probably about $100 a month in gas alone. Interest rates are awesome right now and we got 2.95 from my credit union. 2.75 was their lowest offering and was only available on 2012/2013 MY.

I've got a happy wife...and she's now in a Ford. :bounce:

It does have Sync. Still on the learning curve with that but we have the phones working with it. Didn't try much else.

Just got home from Atlanta, about 150 miles. Was at 22 mpg in suburbia. All highway the rest of the way with cruise set at 70 mph and ended the trip with an averaged 26.8 mpg. Coming from 13.8 mpg averaged over the life of the Tahoe, I think this will be nice. About to go to class and set cruise at 55 mph for a 100 mile round trip. Can't wait to see the results.

We were filling the Tahoe up 3x a month at about $80 per tank.

Oh crap! You were making that regularly in the Tahoe?!

Nice trade. My wife really likes the Edge.

I wish...

My F150 is getting filled up 2x a week at $140 a tank.
