97' Explorer Sport OHV
Good afternoon, hope everyone is doing well!

I have a pooched transfer case on my 97 explorer 5 speed OHV, and a donor transfer case in great condition from I believe a 99-2000 sport. Visually they look identical but struggling to find any info to see if they’d be compatible. All connections and electronics appear to be the same.

Hope to get some insight to see if I can do a straight swap or will have to buy all internals to do a complete rebuild.

Pictures: attached dirty tag is the 97 t case still in vehicle, the cleaned tag I’m holding is from possible donor

Contact this company if you want it straight from the horse's mouth. These guys are about 45 mins from me and are well respected.

Thanks I just sent Adam a email!

I think you’re good to go.

Thanks, just a little apprehensive swapping over. I think I’ll take the crappy one out and compare the internals just to be sure. Internals of the donor part look great!

I think the major difference in the v6 cases is the speed sensor.
