Originally from the California coast where fog was prominent and fog lights tended to be yellow. I wanted to change my ST clear fog lights so I bought pre-cut yellow tint film online. It works great, makes a difference IMHO when using them at night or in foggy / smokey conditions.

Looks good. I bet that will be helpful.

Never realized there was an functional aspect to the tint too. Looks neat though.

Nice!!

I'm getting ready to do the same thing to my 24 ST-Line.

Did you happen by any chance to use the film from Lamin-X? If so, were you able to do the whole lens or just the fronts? I'm going to be working on my second attempt and would appreciate any wisdom you can pass on.

Thanks!!

So the lighting engineers claim that yellow is used for fog lights due to longer wavelengths which result in less light scattering in fog. When I lived on the California coast almost everyone's OEM or aftermarket fog lights were yellow. Reportedly reduces glare / backscatter, improves contrast (why some shooters use yellow shooting glasses), etc.

I just got used to the look of yellow fogs so I thought I'd try the aftermarket tint film and I like it so far. Not much fog in Texas yet but when it arrives I can evaluate it.

Here's how it looks in the dark.

I just like the way they look! Much better than clear IMO.

How was it to install? I got some a while back and still haven't installed as they looked more difficult that I expected and put them down on the shelf to come back when i was more focuses .... then I got busy and now with this thread reminding me ... i need to put them on.

Once you get started it's not too bad. Four things I would recommend for the installation. The first one is a hair dryer or a heat gun on low heat. If you use the heat gun, be gentle, as it's easy to deform the film beyond use. The second one is a sharp razor blade or small boxcutter. Third would be an old credit card or trim tool with a thin edge to tuck in the excess film. The fourth and most important thing is patience.

Here are a couple of pictures. One depicts the left and right orientation. The one closest to the cat will be the drivers side. The other is the finished product. Good luck. Just be patient and you'll be fine.

Great thank you ... hadn't thought about the hairdryer
