FROADER’s ‘63 Falcon
Since I sold the van, I told the wife I wanted to get another classic. My plan was to get another 63 Galaxie, but she said she wanted something she could drive, too. I asked her about the Falcon since it’s similar but smaller and would be easier to drive around town, and she loved the idea. I...- FROADER

I Wana see 1st gen ex lifted 4" and 33s!!
I put 35s on the same 4” Trailmaster lift but needed the front fiberglass fenders and hammered the pinch weld on the firewall. The back is just the 4” lift springs. On the Rubicon.- FROADER

Stic-o's 2019 Ranger XLT FX4
Yeah, that's a rad shot. Yes, he is going through some silt dust in Johnson Valley during the King of the Hammers race. With all of the race trucks, and spectators driving around that area the dust is in the air for a week straight!- FROADER

Are you waiting to the current tires to wear out before swapping? It looks a lot like the first version of my first explorer (minus the rear bumper) right now, it's cool to look at.- FROADER

FROADER's 2006 Lexus GX470
Thanks, Jami. I didn't realize the FJ ever came with the 8.0. The 8.2 upgrade (if it even happens) is a long way off, unless my work bonus is much more hefty than usual. These tires have a lot of tread left and I don't want to buy new until I actually need to. The 4.7 V8 likes to drink...- FROADER

Axel Codes mixed up records.
https://www.explorerforum.com/ntrprize/Axle.htm According to that chart, and everything else I've found, the 45 code is open and 3.55s. A previous owner could have swapped them at some point?- FROADER

FROADER's 2006 Lexus GX470
I've had this for a couple of months now, and I'm loving it! I decided I wanted a nicer/more reliable vehicle as a daily and occasional wheeler/camper. If you don't know what a GX is, technically it's a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 120 series (sold globally except the states), but it's basically a...- FROADER

I’m going to head out that way in the new rig November 13th with the fam, but staying in the Borrego Springs area to find all of the metal sculptures (already done this myself). When we are done with that, we’ll be going up Sheep Canyon and camping overnight.- FROADER

Best Gen Explorer for Camping rig??
They all have some version of 4wd/AWD. Will you be sleeping inside, on top (RTT), or ground tent? I would go for the 4th gen. They are just an updated version of the 3rd, so they are newer and can probably be had with less miles on the clock. They have more interior room than the 1st and 2nd...- FROADER

I’m pretty sure @jamest is the guy you’re thinking of. I didn’t realize Goodyear bought them out. I also really like mine. Had them on the 2010 Explorer and have them on the van now. Maybe check on Hankook Dynapro ATM tires? They have a very similar tread to the Discoverers. Had a set of those...- FROADER

FROADER's 1991 - Edward Bauer III
It is very much what the overlanders use, but it’s just as capable as the Explorer I have. That’s also basically what I was going to be using the explorer for. I do still have the van, and I’m keeping it, unless I find myself not using it anymore at all.- FROADER

FROADER's 1991 - Edward Bauer III
Believe me, I tried to find a white one... :) There is a white one for sale, but they are asking way too much, and wouldn't budge on it. I was lucky to find this one that basically done, so I don't have to wait the crazy lead times to get parts if I were to buy a stock one and "build" it...- FROADER

FROADER's 1991 - Edward Bauer III
I was originally thinking I wanted a truck, so I drove a Taco, Ranger and Frontier (all 4door shortbed 4x4). After driving them and thinking about it, I realized an SUV is just more practical for me. Both good guesses, Tom! The Tacomas and 4Runners are selling for absolutely ridiculous prices...- FROADER

I would love one, but I went to drive a new ranger and saw a few on the lot. They are listed at 20k over retail and I'm not paying that much for anything, ever... :) I'll be frequenting the IH8MUD forum more often, for a clue of possible rigs. I already gave someone a deposit to hold...- FROADER
