Ok maybe I might sound crazy but I cannot explain it. When I bought the truck we check the tranny oil and it was fine. I then rode it for a few weeks and it started to slip and I checked it and it was dry. So I went and put 2 quarts in and it was fine. I then took it to Jiffy lube and had it...

I frecently had the tranny oil and filter replaced and the trany working like a charm. But all of a sudden it wont stay on or the idling fluctuates till it shuts off. I check with the mechanic to make sure he didnt touch anything else and he didnt. So any ideas????? :confused: 93 ford limited

well I found that I have a short in the main window controls on the driver side. I actually had to bang it to get it to work. Once I replaced it the windows worked fine.

*sigh* tried the blue option, nothing. I was tempted to put the last blue wire on the harness and jump it to the power wire but was afraid to blow the amp. I am out of options. :burnout:

ok Ill try anything at this point. I know the blue on the head unit is power attena. and on the Wiring harness its power attena, but as for ford on their premium sticker its mute. Who knows. I'll keep humming in the car until I figure it out.

If you look on the sticker on the Faxtory Harness. The grey one that is flat it says the final blue wire is the mute wire. I think I listed them above as the sticker claims.

ok, i found another forum which had me put the power antenna to the mute and it worked for this person. But it didnt for me :banghead: Anyone else have any suggestions, short of buying a new hu :fire:

I thought the second pigtail is the speaker set up from the amp. The Harness marks that one as so.

Yes the harness states it fits 86 to 94 Premium Sound system Ford. Actually I actually took the wiring diagram and the label left me wondering which would trigger the amp. 1. Blue-Mute 2. No Wire 3. Grn/Blk - Radio Ground 4. No Wire (but claims that it should be Org/blk - Radio Display)...

the harness I purchased was a DB+Link FDP5511 Fits ford premium sound system/Amplifier Integrator system. There was anther model but said 95+ premium system even though it looks like it fits :confused:

Tried as instructed and nothing. The radio powers up, stereo sound indicator come up when we lock into a station and the cd plays but no sound. Actually looked at the factiory harnes and cant even pinpoint the Amp Turn on wire. IT has a sticker on the harness that doesnt state which it is.

Actually tried that but it didnt seem to do anything. Is there a button I have to hit when it powers up. It doesnt have anything listed for the amp I will try again in the morning but I assumed that. :banghead:

I was given this head unit for temporary use. I connected the wiring harness as best I can and I heard nothing, not even a hiss. I have 93 Limited with premium system. I also noticed that the Jennsen had RCA plugs for the amp and not amp wire for power. Is there any way I can rig it to work with...

Thanks But it turned out to be the rear lug nuts were loose. I had the tire changed and it seems the guy never really tightened them. So they were on the verge of coming off. Luckily I found it out before I hit the Hway. :fire:

:bounce: I dont know, its started like the sound of a paper in bicycle spokes. Now it sounds a lot like something rotating badly. It only happens when I pull off or drive slowly. Does anyone know what this could be. I went under but didnt see anything that could make this noise. :burnout:

Supposedly there was no pressure at all. Also he filled it with the cans and he said he didnt hear anything coming out, but it took all three cans of the kit. :banghead:

Thanks Actually I have the factory setup in the truck right now, the previous owner blew all speakers including sub in the back. I replaced the subwoofer and the door speakers with cheap temp speakers. I at this time wanted to replace the HU with a cheap HU until I raise the money to swap out...

I am thinking of replacing the head unit with a temporary HU till I swap out the entire system. 1. What would be the best and easiest Wiring harness I should get and where. 2. Any other suggestion to make this quick and painless. :banghead:

As per my dad who bought the truck originally it did, but I suspect he was talking about the blowers

Had a friend convert it, sucked up three cans of r134, and still nothing. He even said he said the gauge did not register any pressure

Wanted to know other then changing the compressor would there be any reason why it would not kick in. The blowers work fine, and the belt actually looks new. 93Limited :burnout:

i Have a 93 Limited with 235-75/15 tires on the truck. I was checking air pressure I had one tire that was repaired rating at 31 pounds of pressure. The rest were low. Not sure of the optimal pressure I check the label on the door and it states 26 pounds of pressure while cool. But the guy at...

I have a 93 limited what am I looking for on the sticker to know the difference if I have r12 or r134.

Had my dad install my front shocks and regretfully the last owner let the old shock pretty much rot out. Well placing the other shock on he attempted to tighten the bushing and that rod literally snapped. So seeing that he said that rod was not a bolt but welded to the part he mad a make shift...

Actually does nothing. All power seems to be out of windows. power locks, power mirrors, radio etc all work. only the windows. Also neither the main driver controls or individual windows work. :burnout:

Tried unlocking windows nothing. I change the fuse nothing. They all just went dead. Have the driver side window and DS Passenger window open and do not wish to parl it like that in newark, nj. Can anyone thing of anything else.

Has the stock HU and I went ahead and pushed the bass up to the max and nothing pure mids only, some highs.

Does anyone know where I can get the exact specs. Purchased the vehicle and I get no bass, but have the stock everything including the subwoofer in the back. Looking for exact specs so I can either swap it out or temporarily fix what I have. I have exhausted my google search. :burnout:

Well confirmed it has limited on the seats. Strange that even the bill of sale has 1993 Ford explorer limited XL. Well now still need to find specs on the truck and all information possible.

Thanks guys I have my dad looking at it with your suggestions. Its parked in his yard waiting for insurance in Jersey :eek: But I do know it has electronics on both seat, do not know about keyless entry but may explain that anti theft light. We will see. But thanks for the help, any other...

I said the same thing, the back of the truck says Explorer XL, but the side says limited. Everything seems stock, and has the luxury package sunroof, jbl sound system including subwoofer and amp. Few other immenities I thought only come with the limited. Is there a way to tell by the VIN
