maybe get an estimate from another shop, look around for a decent local name. Since you are in the marines, I'm sure you could ask around base for a good shop to take it too.

Eldorado ZTR Sport SUV Tire, Anybody Tried ? ? ?

I know this is an old thread, but just got a set of these on my X. I just got the ZTR Sport Truck, not SUV, I don't really see much difference. For an All-Terrain tire, the tread is fairly aggressive with significant spacing between tread. Seem to have pretty strong sidewall. Run VERY quiet...

    Lights dimming normal?

Why do you say cap's don't support everything. I work in the Electrical Power Transmission System business, and caps are a vital asset to supporting system voltage. A cap opposes any change in volts. In a DC system, the cap only discharges when needed, so when the voltage drops in a DC...

    94 explorer speaker help!!!

Sorry, that's not what I meant. A JBL sound system was an option on 1st & 2nd gen explorers from the factory. I has a 6.5" or maybe 8" woofer where the cargo net/pocket is, powered by a relatively small amp. Check the sticky for audio forum reference, it details all the different sound system...

    Which subs

I can only recommend the Perfect 12.1 I have one in a sealed custom box powered by a brigded JBL 180.2 amp pushing 360watts & a Lightning Audio Strike Series .5farad cap. This system far exceeded my expectations. It's sounds awesome & pounds!!!

    94 explorer speaker help!!!

Only the JBL systems have the sub, and it would be where the cargo net is. The amp you found is for the door speakers. Welcome to the X boards!!

    Lights dimming normal?

First, here's my setup: Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 JBL 180.2 Amp (bridged for 360W) Lightning Audio Strike Series .5 farad cap Noticed my lights dimming with hard hits. Came home and put my multi-meter on the cap. Read 14.11 volts. On big bass hits drops to about 13.5volts, a couple...

oh, and try searching the boards for tips on this, many have done this before...good luck!! Try searching for "factory amp bypass" and such.

    speaker question

best way is to use a harness. try this link, http://www.installer.com/cars/ford.html I think you need the second one from the bottom of the yellow highlighted area, 70-5602 . The amp is in the cargo area, just above the pass side wheel well, behind the panel.

    speaker question

91...this is normal....trucks usually send more power to the front's, and the rear's are just for fill. It's oppositte for cars, they get more power to the rear's. Best cure is to amp the speakers, or if you have an aftermarket HU you should bypass the factory amp.

    exhaust install

DIY!!! It's very easy! And you'll have some self-pride in your truck! I spent more time getting the old exhaust out than it took to put my Borla cat-back on! removal took about 45 minutes, would've been quicker but didn't own a hack saw at the time, so I took it out in piece...had the Borla...

    Factory AMp Bypass

There is a harness you can get that makes it a plug-and-play deal. I looked on circuit city's website, but it says it doesn't fit 91's? You could just diy. First, locate the factory amp. It's above the passenger side wheel well, in the cargo area, behind the panel. Some wire & soldering or...

    Shaved door handles

I saw on "Pimp My Ride" where they removed the handles, and you opened the doors with a remote....that was tight!!! Maybe look into that too?

    Should I go from 255s to 275s?

In regards to # 2 , it will depend on what you are coming from and going to. My stock tires were the Wranger RT/S's , 235/15's, they SUCKED in snow. Now I have Perelli Scorpion A/T's in 31"X10.5/15's and they are just great in the snow, like Gjarret said, if you are going to a more agressive...

    IS my 4x4 working??

woops, I thought dtl started this, no big though! Mud is probably harder to drive through. Sand can be tricky, especially if you have no experience. Sand also depends on how fine it is and how deep it's soft (packed or not). I've seen 'vettes on Daytona Beach, but 99.9% of 2wd won't go...
