410Fortune 1988 Ford Bronco II Eddie Bauer 4x4
Do you think the dash out of a Bronco II or Ranger like yours would fit in a 98 Explorer/Mountaineer? I realize the windshield to dash might not be the best but I would be okay with that. I figure with all the times you have taken and put your stuff back together you might know. I sure like...- rpenner54

Betty's "I want to be a mule" progress log thread
So jealous of your progress. I get stuff done on mine and then it just sits. I get so busy with work and home improvement stuff that I just don't have the energy sometimes. One of these days we need a good Kansas gathering.- rpenner54

Moab 2018 Dates June 1 - 3
Agh... Looks like we are out. I have to many projects going (Work and home) and just can't get my Mountaineer ready in time. That and I found out some frustrating news on the trailer I bought. It has some title issues that I need to work through. Hopefully next year I can make it again.- rpenner54

Water pump bolts
Good info here. I am struggling with one stud right now. I have drilled into the top of the water pump and have squirted into that. Once I did that I have attempted to loosen/tighten the bolt and have been getting rusty pb-blaster in my hole. However it's still stuck and I am just waiting...- rpenner54

I will still be there. I plan on running easy/sight-seeing type of stuff. I may have an aggressive looking rig but it's probably not quite dialed in and this will be that trip.- rpenner54

Rear main seal on 5.0
Oh fun! Well this is an after-moab deal. It's just going to mark it's spot. It does get nasty breathing all that oil being baked off the exhaust pipes down there. LOL- rpenner54

Rear main seal on 5.0
Is there a good write up on this? I can find them for the 4.0 but not the 5.0. Also since I have never dealt with an automatic transmission before when I drop that what is the procedure? Is it like a manual will the torque converter be on the back of the motor or stay with the trans? This is...- rpenner54

Adventure Camping build
If when you get that 205 up in there be sure to take some pics of how you fit it. I probably will go with a 4406 at first with mine just cause it has been done but I am sure I will want some extra gearing that the 205/doublers can offer later- rpenner54

Just a torsion twist and some shackles for now. The future holds more but gathering parts. It will need some good amount of trimming to work the way I want. Those are 36x13.50x 17.- rpenner54

Completed Project Brian1's Twin Trail Build (Lift, Gears, TTB Mods, Bumpers, Sliders, Cage & More!)
Got it, don't want to derail Brian's thread any further here. However good info! I will check all those areas out and probably spray them with something. Just today they were spraying salt everywhere cause there is a 10% chance of snow. However I don't really plan to drive this rig around daily.- rpenner54

Got some well used tires to mount up on it. Needs a bit of trimming. Also the water pump/gasket went out so that needs to be done here soon. Completed Project Brian1's Twin Trail Build (Lift, Gears, TTB Mods, Bumpers, Sliders, Cage & More!)
Did you ever cut the front of the rear wheel wells out? How did you manage that part since the door is so close? Also did you ever put the front inner fenders back in?- rpenner54

Bkennedy's SAS and Rebuild Thread
What about a strange repair to it? Use something like mesh tape for drywall with something like that cheapo bedliner in a spray can that they sell at home depot? Together I would think that you could "glue" up the cracks and give the headliner a coating of a rubber like substance that would...- rpenner54

1998-2001 Mountaineer Inadequate Roof Rack Fix
