Rough ride, lowered ex sport- bump stop issue?

The alignment has nothing to do with bumpstop clearance.... You may only hear one sound without a bumptop....Once single thud, as the mount bends up, or dents the control arm... And then nothing... Bumpstops are important, do not run bumpstopless.... The front stocks are not ideal for...

Rough ride, lowered ex sport- bump stop issue?

No doubt, luckily the shocks on the front have that nice long bar section.... Just right for trimming, sleaving, and rewelding!

Rough ride, lowered ex sport- bump stop issue?

It is easy to trim the stops and well worth what you get out of it, but if you are going to that extent its so much better to use a better quality bump stop... Energy suspension has some low profile bump stops that are great! It might take a little hole enlarging with a drill but well worth...

    Supplementary alternator wiring: 4.0 SOHC

Yip sure am, I'll be in town until the 20th of Nov. Well have to get together sometime.... There is going to be a small meet-up on the 1st downtown savannah.... Mostly VW's but you never know what will be there! BTW 4 of my 5 cars are setup with a direct hardwire. The fuse can really bite...

    Supplementary alternator wiring: 4.0 SOHC

Fuses for the alt to bat line are pretty much a waste. If anything you would want to use a breaker with an external trip light and not a high current fuse. Much cheaper in the long run, and plenty of current overhead!

    Supplementary alternator wiring: 4.0 SOHC

Correct Sir... Run a piece of 0g from the bolt down terminal on the alt to the positive on the battery..... Also its a good idea to run a strand from the negative of the battery to the frame with a piece of 0g. Then ground your big current devices direct to the frame. Good luck!

    Best Plugs, Shocks,etc....for '97 explorer

Personally I am a big fan of WIX filters. NGK or Bosch Plugs. Mobil 1 Synthetic or Royal Purple for the oil. Redline products for rest of the the fluids, where applicable. I have owned several sets of shocks over the years, and by far hands down the best have been the Edelbrock IAS...

    Opinons on Shocks

Ive had the KYB GR2's and IAS's on my sport... I had IAS's on my 1st gen... Still haven't seen a shock that makes such a difference as the IAS's. Can't say enough good about them!

First post, need a little hid help

Yes, that is more than likely your problem. Ballasts take a lot of energy to arc the bulbs. The standard wiring is not nearly enough to power them properly... Instead of buying a harness you can simply make your own for a lot less... You will need two relays, two fuse holders, and some...

First post, need a little hid help

Is your hid kit using a separate fused/relayed wiring harness, or is it the type that just piggybacks onto the OEM wiring for the ballast power? Depending on the setup, it sounds like a bad ballast, have you tried swapping ballasts from side to side to see if that is the problem? The Halogen...

    Supplementary alternator wiring: 4.0 SOHC

I use to have terrible charging problems on my Sport. I recommend everyone just bite the bullet and get a higher output alt. You will not regret it, anything is better than coming out to a dead battery. I got a 250 amp setup from motorcityreman.com, like 5 years ago, great service, and...

Yip, its under your drivers side dash in the fuse panel. Its the round thing! If you need I can take pics, but its very easy to find. Any auto parts store will have it in stock! Just pulls out, and pop in the new one! Simple!

    HID's and DRL's

The ballasts aren't affected, they are used for the initial arc of the bulb.... Flipping them on and off will shorten the life though..... The only thing about DRL is the life of the bulb.

    I got a new(to me) EX

When it comes to the flasher problem, check the cheapest part first. If the lights are coming on but not blinking the flasher module is more than likely just stuck in the closed position. Pretty normal for a module that is that age, they just get worn out and finally contact and spot weld...

    Where to buy tires??!??

You will probably have to go to another shop, or have a friend take them in for you.... But either way, if you take in wheels with no center caps, and tell them exactly what you want there isn't much they can do about it. Or just buy the tires from the cheapest location and find a good mom...

Take the wheels off, and take them to them. Don't tell them what they are for, go with specific size in mind. Don't deviate from the plan... A ton of shops wont touch explorers for anything other than stock size. Ever since the whole "rollover" issue. Not to mention the issues with...
