I started using Royal Purple when Mobil 1 dropped out of the Group IV oils. I have used it now for over 15,000 miles now. I run 5,000 miles between oil changes. I haven't noticed any difference between Mobil 1 and the Royal Purple with normal driving. From what I hear Amsoil is better then Royal Purple. I haven't had any issues with the RP but I think I will be switching to Amsoil in 4,000 miles.
I've used Royal Purple for 12 years and it is great stuff.
Saw on Horsepower TV how it made 5% more horsepower on the dyno compared to conventional oil. They even did a tour of their state of the art factory in Texas. The oil is quality checked at every manufacturing point and there is an on site lab for extensive research.
Besides all of that this oil is awesome and I know this from experience. Definately felt as if my truck was running better on it than with Mobil 1.
Prior to Royal Purple I had always been a Mobil 1 guy.
This has always been my go to oil, even at $7 a quart.
i love mobil 1 synthetic and swear by it! i had heard nothing but good stuff about RP.... is it actually better than M1?....how does it do under winter driving?
