Within the past few weeks my truck has been giving me some problems. It seems as though the 4wd is activating when it shouldn't be. With the truck in 4x4 Auto, the truck feels like its in full time 4wd when I take corners. Its not as severe as being in 4wd Lo, but the front wheels do feel like they are being forced to slip. Also, when I am going straight and I accelerate hard I can feel a thud every second or so. It seems to me like the 4wd Auto is engaging the front wheels when it shouldn't be. If I am going straigt and put it into 4x4 High and accelerate in the same manner, there is no thud. I did some searching and other people have had problems with the 4wd getting stuck in full time, but I couldn't find any stories of it acting similar to mine. I would like to avoid a trip to the dealership so if anybody has any advice I would appreciate it. I already checked the tire pressures and disconnected the battery for 30 minutes which seemed to work for about a day, but did not fix the problem.

Thanks
Greg

If you're still under warranty or not, I'd go to the dealer. That sounds like a problem that you won't be able to fix yourself, unless you're a heckuva mechanic.

Sounds like an issue with either the Speed Sensors on the T/F case or the GEM. You can try pulling and cleaning the speed sensors. If that doesn't work, your GEM may need to be reflashed or replaced.
