02 mountaineer trans issue?

2002 mountaineer. long story short. car sat for six months, after charging battery drove fine. parked one day, came out won't move in any gear at all, engine just revs, fluid is full. any ideas? i'm stumped.

Not to be an @$$, but are you sure the trans is full? Do you know to check it through the drain plug underneath? If your familiar with the proper procedure then ignore my post but just thought id check since there were no other replies.

yep. had it towed to my buddys shop. and he changed the fluid and filter and it still doesn't move. still at his shop and he's as stumped as me..

Can you manually put it from Park to Drive, or is it stuck in Park?

the gearshift moves fine. linkage moves at trans.
