Decided to put aside the 4 15s build for now, and I've already got a few hundred saved for some fun stuff.
I've already decided to go with the vivid linq tuner from superchips. I thought the wireless connection, and free vivid app for droid smartphones was pretty cool.

I haven't decided which intake to go with I wish they had the metal k&n intakes for the v6 but they dont. It's definately a volant or k&n for me though.

I'll also be going with the airaid throttle body spacer, not for power but for something to tap into. I want to buy the nitrous express proton nitrous kit. Great deal for everything you need for about 600, I'm sure the motor could handle a 35-50 shot no problem.

But the exhaust is where I'm behind. I have a hacked off fm 40. I hate it. I've wanted to do true dual borla quiets for a long time, with an xpipe. I want to run it UNDER the rear diff with the srt8 jeep exit. Stainless from the diff back. Just so it looks mean from behind. And attach the stainless section with clamps for easy access to the diff if needed.

Any help is appreciated, I wanna save up to do this all at once, which should be about 2 months tops, woulda been less but I gotta speeding ticket to pay already, hah. But since I got my job back at Budweiser, cash is pretty steady, thaNks for tips EF.

The know reason I wanna do this all at once, is so I really feel it on the "butt dyno" maybe surprise a few people around town with such a huge change.

Imho the tb spacer is a waste (over seen tons used)it may add sound and nothing more...
Want to hear about that tuner I've been looking at it but didn't know it'd been released yet...love my android....have you considered a sct tuned by James @ heneson performance?
Imho I'd be concerned with the exhaust hanging that low... Depends what you do with it but is be concerned about pinching the pipe and restricting flow...

Just trying to give you some input from another angle...do with it what you want

Have you looked into a H pipe instead of a X? The H allows for true duals without the two having to force through one restricting point(the X) the H simply links the pipes with a pc between them to match resonance...seems this would definitely be less restrictive...

will, the x-pipe actually helps the flow, the crossing pulses work the same way as using compressed air to create a vacuum. I have seen dyno sheets on 5.0 foxbody mustangs show a 3-5 hp gain just from the x-pipe, as wells as the "butt dyno" from installing a few when i worked at a local muffler shop. These all had headers though, i cant say for sure if the gain would be the same without the header

Good to know I knew its better than none but I guess it depends on application..
Ie forced induction vs na(na needs back pressure) lol my bud replaced his exhaust on a sentra ser with the neo-vvl and in dropping diameter he gained tons of bottom end vs minimal top end gains with too little restriction...

I too knew a few fox bodies that ran x pipes but they gain most power from removing the cats...anyone directly compare x pipe to h on same application only changing that?
Not doubting you at all if they were junk Noone would run them...

Like I said the throttle body spacer is goin to be there just to tap into for a nitrous port so I'm not tapping into my intake. I've heard about sct. Can you get custom tunes for the sct? Plus I like the wireless tuner, it would take a lot of convincing and proven numbers to sway me from the vivid Linq. And I've seen the new explorers have duals under the axle. Didn't think it would matter. I got 22s on lo-pros not to worried about getting the pipes pinch on trails. Lol.

I was worried about using a handheld tuner with a nitrous application, over a custom tune, that's why I'm second guessing myself with tuners now. Still got a lot of thinking to do. Not sure of which plugs to use, although I know I need a heat range colder, also need to bring timing down about 1 1/2 degrees. Just want a reliable car that's fun, and surprisingly fast at lights against rednecks with their tuned diesels.

The SCT tuners have a custom tune, James Henson (a member on the forum) does some killer custom tunes using a datalogger and wideband o2 sensor

the ones i worked on had cats still, being a shop we had to keep it street legal, but i have no comparison betweem h-pipe and x-pipe on the same vehicle

I just read up on someone with the custom tune. the whole data logging process and everything seems complicated. I also figured getting a wideband o2 was gonna be another option I would have to have.

I emailed Henson, told him I wanted a nitrous tune as well as a performance tune without nitrous, and also a gas saver tune. Told him the mods soon to be done, and asked what they could do for me,and what they recommend. Hopefully I'll hear back with good results.

It's easy plug in scanner it makes logs upload to pc email and you get a file back with tunes...

This is by far way better than a "blanket" tune(sct makes one but with a sct from James it comes with three free tunes of your choosing)even james Will tell you tuning the truck on a dyno in person would be the best way to do it if possible. if not this is definitely second best because it details how your truck is running with everything. Plus he can tweak them...

I haven't bought a tuner from James yet but have dealt with him some and he's GREAT! haven't found one bad thing about the guy...I would reccomend calling to discuss it if you want immediate gratification... While he's definitely on here alot that's the best contact method I've heard.

So you get tunes over email, then just upload them to the sct tuner?

Awesome doesn't sound so complicated now. Using big words like data logging throw Me off. Thanks for breaking it down guys. Hoping to get this build started soon. Also hoping to hear back from Henson. Really don't wanna do all this without a professional "custom" tune
