Air (whether AC or heat) blows equally out of all vents regardless of what the selector switch indicates.

This is making it very difficult to defrost my windows in the morning. Any thoughts on the culprit are greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem on my 02 xlt. Did you find a fix

jsut started having the same problem with my 03.... blend door i'm thinking??

Blend door just controls whether or not the incoming air goes through the heater core or not. It has nothing to do with where it goes from there. Vacuum motors control all that. As Brooklyn states, you have a vacuum problem. It could be the selector switch, a motor that's bad, or a pinched or loose line. And the vacuum system all starts out at the vacuum reservoir under the right front inner fender. Well, I guess it actually starts at the intake manifold, but you get the picture.
