04 Mounty oil leak

My parents have a 04 mountaineer with 8000 miles on it. It has an oil leak and according to the ford garage it is the rear main seal. My question is, if they replace the seal will it be ok or could there be something else causing the seal to leak and possibly leak again after they replace it.

My 99 Mounty has the same leak you are describing, tore apart a 5.0 Mustang not too long ago and the rear main was a two piece (obviously stock) FelPro sells a one piece seal kit that we installed in friends Mustang, no leak so far, So to answer your question, maybe yes, maybe no, but thr\e replacement worked on his Mustang and I plan to replace my Mounty's with one piece in near future
