Hi everyone! My 05 Sport Trac XLT 4.0 SOHC V6 started to have a squeak a few months ago. I thought it was the usual problems so I changed the belt, tensioner pulley, and the idle pulley but the problem still persist. I noticed today that there is movement on the crank pulley which looks unnatural, is this a bad harmonic balancer?
3sec video of the crank pulley at start up. The squeak happens at start up then goes away when the crank pulley settles back in position. It also happens when I make a sharp turn, or when the AC is on.
If it is the harmonic balancer, do I need any special tools to remove the old one? I would really appreciate the help as I am not the most handy person. I am also trying to save money by not bring this to the dealer. Every little thing helps especially during this pandemic. Thanks for reading!
