I have tried a few, one off Amazon and one from a local auto zone, neither lasts more than a month before starting to growl again, any sources besides Ford for a good one...

Front or rear? I did both, found front are far easier, bolted in, rear requires pressing bearing in/out of suspension spindle. Bought them all from Rock Auto. imp

I went with MOOG bearing and hub assemblies for the front, $107 from Rock Auto. Be sure to follow directions for setting the preload. Went with MOOG knuckles that have the bearing pressed in for the rear, $212 also from Rock Auto. I think MOOG uses high quality National bearings, great fit and finish.

SKF is the top tier hub assembly.

@Number4
I believe this Chinese Bearing-maker is supplying to:

Timken, SKF Bearing, NSK, NTN, Koyo Bearing, Kbc NACHI Bearing

See: https://ikc-bearing.en.made-in-china.com/product/hBIQeMpvgmVT/China-Timken-SKF-Bearing-NSK-NTN-Koyo-Bearing-Kbc-NACHI-Bearing-Auto-Agricultural-Machinery-Ball-Bearing-6001-6002-6003-6004-6201-6202-6203-6204-Zz-2RS-C3.html

If so, then they are either re-boxed, or actually boxed in China marked Timken, SKF, etc. Or, maybe I don't really understand, but I've suspected this for some time now. Pricing then is based on the REPUTATION of the name.......imp

Something manufactured in China does not mean there is only one manufacturer with identical quality. Some manufacturers are bad, but there are some that manufacture quality products.

I have used NTN and Timken bearings on many cars (not Explorers though, BMWs, Audis, and Jaguars) and never had any problems for years.

On an Explorer I used bearing from ACDELCO (rear left) and it seems fine (I changed it week ago, so no surprises here :))

Both actually need replacing, I have done the front twice but they dont last...

I will look at those...

Did some checking by running the part numbers from rock auto through Amazon, seems to show the Timken stuff to be the better from the reviews...

Now to figure get an order up, need a few more small items to go along with the hubs...
