09' Adrenalin - Weird shift to 3rd sometimes

I just noticed recently that when down shifting from drive to 3rd 90% of the time it goes fine, but a few times it seems to partly go into 3rd but i get a pulsing feeling that feels like its trying to get into that gear, it pulses every second or so.

I did recently get new rear tires, old fronts, i dont know if this circumfrance difference is the issue? I am looking to see if anyone has had this issue before?

If your truck is a 4x4 or AWD, yes this is a serious problem. On 4x4's and AWD you need tires in complete sets.

You may want to quit down shifting manually. It is much cheaper to replace brake pads and rotors than a transmission.

have you experianced this exact issue before due to tire size differences

i also wonder why it hasnt shown up under normal driving and only going down to 3rd gear.

Yes, I experienced this in the past with other 4x4 trucks.
Feel lucky it does not happen at faster speeds.
