15 PIU Climate Control with Remote Start Not Working

Hey everybody! Working on my first PIU and what a wealth of knowledge you guys are!

Climate control does not activate when I remote start the vehicle. Here's what I did:

FORScan downloaded and extended license installed.
Enabled keyless.
Enabled remote start.
Added the hood pin switch (plunger) to existing wiring under the hood.
Programmed the new key fobs.
Lock/unlock/remote start works just fine.
A/C does not come on during remote start.

I started the vehicle with the key and turned on the A/C.
Shut the vehicle off with the A/C still turned on.
Remote start via key fob.
Fan blows appropriately based on the speed setting I left it on.
It's just hot air.

While I'm at it...... where the heck are the remote start options on the instrument cluster? I've checked SETTINGS but don't see it there.......

Oh yeah - I *did* make sure the IPC remote start setting was configured C8F3 (enabled w/o climate seats or HSW)

I haven't checked into it lately but I believe the manual shows which temperature ranges must be met before either A/C or Heat are engaged.
I checked the manual and unlike the retail Explorer, there is nothing in it linking the remote control to the climate system.
